Price Offered Deal!

Good move, Boston is still unproven if he can stay healthy for an entire year. Thompson sucks and is getting cut. That leaves you with Chambers, Boston, Gillmore and Welker. We need Price as our 3rd WR. Linehan likes to spread 3 and 4 wide. Nice pick up if the "PRICE" is right!

I doubt Price signs with Miami. I mean, as much as I hate to demean Miami, who would you rather line up with as a WR: Gus or Brady?
Anyway, Price is over rated and isn't worth the cap room we'd be sacrificing for him.

I put myself in the postion of a reciever looking for a long term commitment, because after all, stability is the only thing that you CANT guarantee in this league. So you'd like to find a job somewhere where you can finish out the next ten years of your career.

Thats why I think he'll chose Miami. I of course, could be wrong, but heres my reasons.

Think about the Pats. They won three bowls in four years. They're a dynasty. Yes, but like all good things (or evil things in this case) it has to end. The pats can't stay golden forever, and they seem to be in the waning position after their coaches took a hike for bigger and better things. Like every dynasty, they will shift to the backseat in the next few years to a new up and comer team ready to floor it to the superbowl. You want to be on a winning team, to be PART of a dynasty, not saying "Boy, I wish I was here to see Romeo Crennel's defense in action" etc.

The Cowboys. Come on, we all know that Bill Parcell is not the amazing coach we all thought, and that perhaps is success came from the great staff around him. Much like Jimmy Johnson of the Dolphins Era, BP has been exposed as the overrated coach that he is, and will soon crawl back into retirement, leaving the Cowboys up in the air for another half decade before they bring in a Saban to clean up his mess.

Which is the perfect segue to my next point.

Saban. The janitor of Huizenga High, brought in to clean up the mess Wannstedt, Johnson and Spielman made in the food fight that was last season. The dolphins had thier problems. They had their 4-12 season, and now are on the rise. The exact opposite of the Patriots, we are on the rise, and everyone around the league knows it. It might not be this year. It might not be next, but Peerless Price knows that he can be a contributing player to the next possible dynasty. The next Billy Belichick, the next big thing.

So I hope he makes the right decision.

Plus, would you really want to practice in the blustery north east?

Why would we be looking at Peerless Price with Chambers, Boston and Booker all in the fold as an every down WR? Could someone (maybe Booker?) be on the verge of being cut/traded?

I cannot imagine Booker being cut.

I don't think now would be the time to trade him, either. I do have to admit that it could be a possibilty after next year if Boston wants to stick around, though.

why a RB? if this goes through Saban just gave us the best WR and Rb corps in the NFL in one day

Huh?

Price is better than Chris Chambers people. You all are such homers you can't see that.

ATTN Warfrat. This is not Smack. It is an Opinion based on numbers. Please don't ban me for saying Chambers is not a very good reciever.

You could be right. And I don't disagree with you. But honestly, Price seems like the type that is more about himself than team and will only look to do what makes himself look better and what nets him the most money now or what will make him look better and will net him another bigger contract down the road. Not saying he is a team cancer like Terrell Owens. It just seems to me he'd be more interested in better stats than he is likely to put up with Miami - at least for this season.

You are all forgetting something here. Before Saban got here, we lost out on every premier FA because they knew Wannpuke was a moron. This offseason, how many guys did we lose out on? Maybe Kennoy Kennedy? I cant really think of many.. And one more thing, a lot of the time the biggest reason guys want to come here is the WEATHER. Plus, the Pats are stacked at receiver (in terms of numbers).. if he wants an opportunity he will not go there.

So I believe it comes down to Dallas (having Drew their may put it over the top) and us.. Maybe he and Sammy Morris were friends down in Barfalo and Sammy can do some talking. In any case, it seems like Dallas' offer was one year, 1.5 million and he didnt seem impressed. If we can offer 2 years, we should have him.

All I know is that hes close to 30 and has a prohibtive salary. If Saban is looking to build for the future, he may considers letting Booker go (either via trade or waiving him). Dont think it will happen, but you never know.
