Question for the sky is falling crowd........

Fine, you saw the perfect season, and another SB after that. Good for you. You have nothing to complain about the rest of your life, but those of us who are now 30 freakin' years old are still yet to see this team do anything. I started watching this team when I was 9 years old, and I'm still yet to see them get past the second round. People in their teens have yet to see them win a playoff game. And it's not just "Quitting after a couple of games", we pretty much know what we've got in Tannehill right now, in his third year.

No, no you don't. You THINK you do, just as think I do....but it has yet to be determined.

Yeah?.....Did the Chargers know what they had in Drew Brees 3rd season?....When he completed 57% of his passes...11 td's and 15 ints?

No.....they didn't...but they thought they did.

Two games.....1-1.....Let's let it play out before we over react...that's my real point.

I was shocked when I saw the name attached to the OP. He should know better than a comparison of this type, and plenty of posters appropriately let him know about it.

Patriots on the road after a loss is as close to a certainty as we have these days in the NFL. It remains to be seen how good they are in normal weeks. Brady's arm still looks fine but his downfield accuracy is not what it used to be. That's the primary concern I've heard from two friends who are New England fans, along with how much Wilfork has left, and whether too many marginal players are starting on the offensive line.

As far as anyone who saw the Perfect Season not having anything to complain about, that's rubbish. I'm sickened that younger fans get stuck with a stadium like this, instead of a rollicking venue that dictates outcomes and brings out the passion and ferocity of the entire community. I hated to leave the Orange Bowl area after all those dominant wins by the Dolphins and Canes.

Wow...that stung...as I admitted...bad comparison... but the point stands...too early to panic or quit.

I also miss the Orange Bowl atmosphere... I hope this stadium renovation recaptured some of that.

Man do you know how many QB's failed for every one Drew Brees that succeeded? You're cherry picking your examples.

People are fed up, and I don't blame them, its like we are cursed or something. One could make a TV show with all the Dolphins bloopers out there

Ok....Jim Plunkett...Terry Bradshaw....Brett Favre or Steve Young?

Look...all I'm suggesting is game 2 at 1-1 is to early for the garbage seen on this board.

You can throw out all the names you want. It's a surface example and has no relevance in lieu of failure rates. They're the exception not the norm.

Just go to any prediction thread and most people said they`d be happy going 2-2 at the BYE...I just dont know how most expected us to go 2-2 without losing a game...?

And I fully expect this team to go 3-1....We should get Knowshon Back shortly after the bye....and the Buffalo game will be largely forgotten.

The nay crowd had their opinions formed before week one, the Patriots game was a disappointment to them. This is going to continue all season. Mark my words if the Dolphins make the playoffs they will bitch if they don't make it to the Superbowl. If Tannehill throws for 4000 yards and 35 TD's they will bitch because he had 15 INT's. And so on

The Dolphins were 3-1 at one point last year too. Hell they went 5-8 after starting 3-0. No one has said what happened last year or in years past will influence this team. It's the losing trend the last 20 years we're referring to.

Last year I could really give a flying **** about. We've brought in new personnel and coaches, it's not the same team and they're not playing the same teams. The losing trend the last 20 years is grounds for being fickle, not grounds for bitching and squawking and calling it a season in week 2. If people are already set in believing we're ****ed based on past failures, as I said there is no causation there. Just because we were bad, doesn't mean we are bad. Being skeptical is fine....I'm skeptical, but the evergrowing section of the board that thinks people around here are stupid for letting the season play out a couple more games based on past failures are ill-informed to be making such statements in week 2.

Has anyone here heard of the famous saying in football, "Any given Sunday"? This is why they play the game, if you honestly think the season two weeks in is an indication of the success that will be attained during the season, you are gravely mistaken. Anything can happen on any given Sunday, and nothing is truly predictable at any given point in the season. Let the coaches coach and let the players play, and the cards will fall where they will.

If people are already set in believing we're ****ed based on past failures, as I said there is no causation there.

This is where I must respectfully disagree. The twenty years of past failures for this franchise has led to the development of a CULTURE OF MEDIOCRITY that has infused the entire franchise. It will have to be overcome before the team will be able to become a consistent championship contender. A steady stream of coaches, players and front office personnel have contributed to this culture, few have been able to transcend it, and none have been able to overcome it. So, there is causation. What happened last year matters because the same players and coaches who accepted last year's mediocrity are still here.

I'll reiterate again. The season is not over. Anyone saying it is over is incorrect.

Not the same team though huh? Last year Miami beat NE at home and couldn't beat Buffalo. So far in 2014 the same thing has happened. Those are facts. Let's see if Miami has the balls to finish better than 8-8.

People are skeptical because we went out and thumped the Patsies hard. Expectations increased; maybe just maybe we turned a corner. Then, 1 scant week later, we don't even look like we're in the same league with the stinkin Bills. It drives anyone who has been a Dolphin fan for years nuts....because at least with other regimes we were predictably competitive. If we played Seattle at Seattle next week it would not surprise me if we won. Then lose 5 straight games. And all that's on the front office and coaching.
