Quinn Ewers signs 4 year contract

yo Blue I was jus bein a smartie ask! I recommend not taking this stuff too serious or you might get a rash!

Beyond that I reckon your flawed opinion is just as valid as most others 'roun here so feel free to carry on!

People say we should take a late round flyer every year on a QB. They've finally done it. And if you're going to take a QB in the 7th round, I like taking one who, at times, played well in a major conference. I watched a lot of Texas games, and while sometimes they baffled me, I saw Ewers play well on different occasions. I'm very curious about what he might become. Do I expect greatness? No, but it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up being serviceable. Hell, if he could be Don Strock, it's a home run.
After the season ended three things that I wanted us to take care of in the draft or defensive line, starters, an offensive line starter, and a quarterback who truly could develop into someone who could come in and spot start when needed. I genuinely don’t understand how people got so down on Ewers to the point he fell so far but he has definitely looked like someone who might be able to run this offense well enough to keep us competitive when we lose our starter.

I think that's the general consensus throughout the fanbase these days. Last year was a train wreck and Ross didn't even try to rectify the shortcomings at the level that moves the needle. This coming season is just a Tua concussion away from the dreaded 3-4 win season.
Didn't move the needle for you? Upgraded both OG spots and infused a lot of young talent into the IDL. Not sure how much should be expected from one off-season, when options are de facto limited.

Edit: forgot the significant upgrade to backup QB. The team has put resources into the most glaring needs--the ones that undid last season.

I wonder how many games in some of us will be rooting for losses to get a top 5 draft pick?
Definitely not going to consider tanking until mid season. If the team is 4+ games out of the division then maybe we hope they will trade some bets and give younger players experience.

I've looked at a lot of his "tape" recently. There is two very different players injured/non injured. He is a very interesting prospect when healthy, he injured he plays through it but his play significantly changes as well as his mechanics.

We should give him a chance, he can sit learn this year and build the body to be more durable as well as heal. Last year @ Texas he looked hurt, badly hurt and played through it.
I hope you're right, I did watch most of his games in 2024, so I admit i didn't see him in 2023 so maybe I missed him playing healthy.

If I remember correctly @BlueFin was one of the few on here that wanted Herbert over Tua.....I believe he was correct on that one. Yes Herbert hasnt done much, yet. But his long term future looks better than Tua's.
I also wanted Herbert. I think there were a number of us. I was disappointed, but still always root for whoever we have. Even when I didn't want them. 😉

Oh I'm not saying he is Dan Marino, I'm just saying he looks interesting, I see Baker Mayfield, which isn't terrible for the 7th round.

Here is an excel sheet on Ewers (Ewers Breakdown), I didn't make it but its interesting.

Much rather have Ewers than Sanders. I already have so much resentment towards the Dolphins, had they drafted Samders, I may have officially turned in my fan card.

That's what the 17th time this week that you've made that threat?

My recommendation... Don't be such a drama queen, nut up, make a permanent decision about your status a Dolphins fan, & act accordingly.

Carr just retired, I wonder if we can get a late round pick for Wilson....go with Ewers as the back up?
I like that idea, but I would then want another "developmental" QB or a "serviceable" vet QB, in order to maintain 3 QBs on our roster.
