Why do you keep saying that when you know it isn't true. The raven winning tonight made it almost impossible to get in if we lose one of the next two. If the ravens had lost tonight we could have lost to either the bills or jets and still got in with just one more loss by the ravens. Now we would need either them or cincy to lose both games if we lose one, unless they lost one and the charger won out which is very unlikely. No **** sherlock. That is my point. That is why the Ravens winning tonight didnt hurt us. We win that 3 team tie so long as one of the Ravens losses that put them to 9-7 was vs the Pats or the Bengals..... not the Lions.
By that logic the saints, eagles, broncos, and bengals don't deserve to be in either. They all lost this week to teams they should have beaten.
The Ravens beating Detroit doesn't hurt us, it just means we have to put more faith in the scarily inconsistent product that is the Miami Dolphins.
That Ravens loss was horrible for us. I don't know what you're talking about. If the Lions held on there, we would have been able to clinch the #6 seed simply by beating Buffalo and the Ravens losing to NE.
It would also afford us a much much greater possibility of us getting in at 9-7 thru any formula, as I do think Baltimore will lose one of the next two. Its now almost certain that we need to win out to make it, and I don't have a ton of confidence in this team going to Buffalo and winning.
Just like the broncos should have beaten the chargers on their homefield rather than depend on us to knock off the pats for them. Or just like the saints should have knocked off the rams rather than hope the jets beat the panthers, or the bengals should have beaten the steelers rather than hope the lions beat the ravens. Wining under pressure is a LOT more difficult than playing with nothing to lose.Did those teams lose to the same teams on their home field when those teams had a practice squad QB starting earlier in the year as well? Not the same thing. The Dolphins should not get swept by a team like the Bills. If they do then like I said they do not deserve to be in the playoffs. As for the Jets, the Dolphins should beat them at home with the playoffs on the line.
The Dolphins lost games earlier that they should have won making these next two games must wins if they want to make the playoffs. Shouldn't be counting on teams like the Lions to win games.

LOL, why is beating them now so different than losing to them on week 7?? I guess if we don't deserve to be in if we lose to the bills then we should give up now because we already lost to them once.If you can't go to Buffalo and win, what sense does it make to be in the playoffs then? Just to say "we are in the playoffs" . . . only to lose @ NE, or @ Cincy (undefeated this year at home) in wildcard weekend.
Miami needs to come out like KC came out against Oakland and kick some ass.

If you HAD to pick a game for Baltimore to win . . . this was the game you wanted them to win. Now Miami will have the conference tiebreak advantage in any tiebreak scenarios with them.
You sir are correct. So, to get in at 9-7 now, we need one of the following to happen:
1. Ravens lose both games (NE, CIN)
2. Bengals lose both games (MIN, BAL)
3. Ravens lose one game and Chargers (OAK, KC) win both games
If the Ravens had lost tonight, we get in at 9-7 as long as they lost one. I don't see any of the 3 above scenarios as likely (possibly Ravens losing out), so this game tonight puts a lot more pressure on us to win out. This scares me a little, knowing the dolphins, but also will be very sweet if we make it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my understanding.

Guess we should of given up to the Jets in 2008 since they beat us earlier in the year . . . right? You aren't making any sense bro. This is a different Miami team from week 7, with a better oline and a QB playing better football. This is a team that controls it's own destiny . . . you should be able to seperate the pretenders and the contenders when so much is on the line.
5-0 in 2008 we finished. With every week having scenarios for 4-1 and even 3-2 . . . guess what, all those scenarios and all those threads . . . if we didn't finish 5-0 we DO NOT make the playoffs that year.
Handle your business Miami. Don't leave it up to anybody else.
True but the Broncos and Saints won enough games early on to afford to lose the games they have lost so far. The Dolphins haven't won enough games yet. The fact is if the Dolphins want to assure themselves a spot in the playoffs then they will have to win in Buffalo. They may get lucky if some team loses and gives them another shot but they can't count on that. It's best to head into the playoffs with some confidence and winning a game on the road in bad weather against a division rival would be another confidence builder. The best teams win when under pressure and are the teams that go far in the playoffs.
You miss the point. The other poster was saying we don't deserve to get into the playoffs if we lose the bills, and I was just saying if we make it we deserve it no matter HOW we get there. Most all the best teams in the league lost this past weekend with a lot on the line vs teams they SHOULD have beaten. I don't see how you can say they don't deserve to be in the playoffs because they lost to a weaker team, and I don't see how someone can say we don't deserve to be in the playoffs just because we lose to the bills.
