Ravens beating Detroit did not hurt us at all.

I agree, but earlier you said we don't deserve to make the playoffs if we lose to the bills, to which I disagree. Obviously you want to keep winning and win when you have to, but if not it doesn't mean we don't deserve what we earn. That was all I am saying.

Yeah I shouldn't have said they didn't deserve to be in if they do make it in. Just would like to see them continue winning while heading into the playoffs.

We just need to win next week, let everything else take care of itself. At least one of the teams we need to lose will, and hopefully that team is the Bengals. You just KNOW this will come down to week 17 for us though, I mean, its us. It would feel too weird if something didn't excruciatingly come down to the last second for us.

What sucks for me is we have family christmas dinner to go to during the game, will have to PVR and watch it late. FML

If we win out, the ravens win out, and ne loses all 3 remaining games, we are divisional champs, the ravens beat the bunglers in a tiebreak, and the patsies are out. I think that is correct.

I don't know why NE hasn't gotten the "clinched" mark yet, at least I'm not seeing any way they don't get in.

WRONG!!! The ravens game tonight, while it doesn't take away our controlling our own destiny it certainly did hurt our chances, unless we win out.

No, that's right. Them beating Detroit doesn't hurt Miami directly at all. We still control our own destiny... like I said in my post, it just means we know how to expect our team to be win-out and be consistent when it's nothing something they have been very good at doing in the past. It doesn't hurt the team directly but it makes our margin of error that much smaller... and I just don't want to get my hopes up with this team anymore.

I wasn't disagreeing with your point, I get what you're saying but *technically* the OP is correct even though he didn't mean it the way I meant it. The Ravens losing would have left me at ease... now these last two weeks are going to be brutal.

Dolphins win out (10-6 4-2 Div) and Patriots lose out (10-6 3-3 Div) the Dolphins win the AFC East. Then If Cincinnati beats Minnesota and Baltimore Wins out , Baltimore (10-6 4-2 Div) Wins the AFC North and Cincinnati (10-6 2-4 Div) gets the 6th seed because they beat New England earlier this year.

The Bengals have to beat Minnesota also and then the Patriots would lose out to Cincinnati for the 6th seed because Cincinnati owns the head-head

how great is this?? we actually care about football in december! been a while!

With the Ravens winning last night, the Dolphins also could be eliminated from the playoffs this upcoming weekend. If the Dolphins lose to the Bills and the Bengals and Ravens win, the Dolphins would be out. So there is no margin for error now.

I want to remind everyone of the last game of the season in 1991.

In week 17...we played the Jets at home. Dan Marino was in his prime. We were in a win and you are in scenario...as was the Jets.

We lost at home in overtime 23-20.

I was at that game. It sucked!

It won't affect us if we finish 2-0. But still, in the overall picture, that Ravens win last night hurt us. It's pretty obvious.

so, if the following plays out:

Miami (10-6): Win @ buffalo, win vs. New york
baltimore (10-6): Win vs. New england, win @ cincinnati
cincinnati (10-6): Win vs. Minnesota, loss vs. Baltimore
new england (10-6): Loss @ baltimore, loss vs. Buffalo

miami gets #2, baltimore #3, cincinnati #6, and ne eliminated! Don't see ne losing out but that would be amazing!

this!

4 words... WIN AND YOU'RE IN!

All we can do is win our games and take care of our own business.

Buffalo is playing tougher than their record. Scares me. New York, Yea I know, they suck one week, then lay a beating another. I don't think they can hang with us, but I have no doubt both teams would like to play spoiler.

I'm looking for the Dolphins to come in and handle their business. Because they have NO business losing either of their last 2 games. If they do, I'm not sure they belong in the playoffs.

Just win baby... just win.

The way I see it.......and I hate to say but go NE and go Minnesota. Bal loss and CIN loss this weekend with a Fins win..... Guaranteed spot. We can rest the starters second half of jets game! Stranger things have happened!

Had Baltimore lost last night, then to the Pats and we beat the Bills the Jets game would not have mattered.

Either way, we should all be thanking Pittsburgh because they made it so that all we have to do is win out.

I will not sleep on Buffalo, but I also am not terrified of them. Even with that ****ty first half, we had the game in hand at the end. It all came down to that stupid pass where Mario Williams destroyed Clabo for the fumble and then giving up a long run to Fred Jackson on 3rd down because our team went for the fumble rather than that tackle.

Now Buffalo rushes the ball well and rushes the passer well, but they struggle against the run and have shown that they can be poor tackling.

We lost the Buffalo game because we beat ourselves. The pick 6, the dumb pick in the redzone, the fumble, the missed tackle on a damn FB, going for a strip rather than a sure tackle. Let's not act like Buffalo is a better team than us. I have no doubts they can and will make it a game, we just have to take care of business
