Ray-Ray Armstrong a possibility?

Well, giving Art Kehoe his job back didn't really sit to well with me.

Most of the other hires I've liked. Jedd Fisch, despite being a ****head Gator, has done a pretty good job with the offense.

This year should say a lot. This team is bad. I think that if he can somehow win 8 games, they should rename the coach of the year trophy after him.

Admittedly, part of why I say what I say is these things:

1. Chase Ford going under-used. I hate to keep beating this drum but the facts are what they are, he was an impressive JUCO prospect, he stepped into Shrine practices and dominated, made a dominant play during the Shrine game itself, tested well athletically, and even though he was a UDFA he's caught all kinds of peoples' attention at Eagles OTAs. Here's one example:

Chase Ford was an afterthought for me as an NFL player until we saw what he could do at OTAs. It's hard to get excited for a tight end who had just 22 catches in the past two seasons in college. Ford looked like a player at the Eagles' camps that should have gotten 40 or 50 catches

2. Exactly what you've already said about Seantrel Henderson, Art Kehoe, etc.

3. Vaughn Telemaque was really going to be benched this year? Really?

4. Olivier Vernon...you just get the feeling he could have been put in position to do more.

Obviously it's not as bad as things were with Randy Shannon, but still...some of these things are questionable.

I think Vernon's problem was that he lacked motivation this past season.

I spent a great deal of time with his father in Tallahassee during the Florida State tailgate. He had some to say about the money that Vernon had to give back plus the suspension that he felt was unfair. Out of all the kids that got suspensions, Vernon got the most.

Seemed like Vernon just felt like his entire season was over before it even began and he brought that out onto the field. He played well at times but like everyone else, too inconsistent. But I was excited to draft him. I know he has serious potential. He'll surprise a lot of people this season.

Chase Ford...SMH SMH SMH. Kid had some of the best hands The U has seen at tight end in a while if we don't count Jimmy Graham. But damn did that kid love to be the host of the biggest dorm room party after the games. It was like he didn't care that he wasn't performing well and we were losing games that we shouldn't. As soon as the game was over, he's looking to party. That really bothered me about him. But again, these are kids.

imo vernon is the best pro prospect to come out of that um class last year...i could understand the argument made for lamar miller though...he's got some terrific tools...health would be my concern there...

Bet he has more impact his rookie year. You've seen him play. If he was bigger he might have gone 1st round.

Spence is a guy that I wasn't really fond of due to size. He has some of the best instincts for the position. I wasn't big on Spence during the draft, but I think he's in the perfect spot in Pittsburgh. They'll get a lot out of Spence.

I read he's up to 235 which is Zack Thomas or James Farrior size. I think you would agree he was our best defender the last two years. I believe Pittsburg will find a spot for him. Tackling machine with great instincts.
Heck you probably know his family.

hybrid role makes a whole lot more sense to me than a strictly lb or safety one does...that's for sure

i still think most his hay will come from specials...

Maybe at first. We discuss Vernon and Ray Ray as having potential to be great. Sean plays to his potential every snap and you know the Steelers will find a ceative way to use him. That's what they do.

Significant difference in the way that team is being coached under Golden. I see the fundamental improvement in basics. It didn't show up in the win/loss record because of quarterback play and lack of leadership. All the best players were freshman or sophomores.

One of the biggest improvements that you're going to start seeing from this point forward under Golden is the difference in strength and physicality. Miami has been a weak team full of underdeveloped talent for several years... kids just weren't strong or tough enough to compete at a high level. A lot of these players have improved their weight room strength by 25% recently according to the coach. He's putting the emphasis where it needs to be, and he understands that the only way to get to that level is through everyone putting in the work and paying the price. He knows raking in 5-star recruits can't win anybody anything if they're not willing to pay the price. More importantly, the players seem to be buying in.

Turning the 2-stars into 3-stars, and the 3-stars into 4-stars through ol' fashioned hard work and dedication in the weight room is the key to player development, and competing at a championship level. There are no shortcuts. Coach Golden understands it. His Temple teams would have physically whipped the more talented Miami team he took over.

The kid who I think is really going to live up to his potential be a legitimate force is Chickillo. Already one of the best Miami defensive lineman I've seen in several years.

Unlike Armstrong, Seantrel Henderson is a massive under-achiever whose yet to trend the right way on the field. Telemaque is a nice little college safety who has provided some much needed stability into a secondary that needed it, but he's not an NFL player in my opinion... mabye 1/3 the NFL prospect Ray Ray Armstrong is. The key for Armstrong is maturing a little bit between the ears.

Chickillo is a beast.I also think Perryman will be a star at inside backer. Good points about the strength training. We'll take our lumps this year but with all the good young talent the future is bright in my humble opinion.

Stretch Armstrongs cousin from the inner city? No thanks. I hear he has hella reach but he's more of a noodle arm than our former QB.

Noodle arm ? He plays safety. Your thinking of Harris the QB.
