remember when we passed up brees for Fletcher...

He would've been awful in our system anyway... Wannstedt might have drafted him, but he would've ruined his career within 2 year...
 
Oh the irony if Brees ends up here with Fletcher in SD.

That's not how it went. JJ moved out of the original draft spot before he knew who was going to be available with the original pick.
 
actually I wouldn't be surprised to see Fletcher back here on a 1 year contract. He's better than Reggie Howard, cheap, and can fill in as nickel back. Fletcher was just never got out to be a premier corner, but he could be an asset in the zone
 
JJ moved out of the spot that was Moss and proclaimed the Ring of Honor canidate that we all love and revere , Larry Shannon , equal to Moss. I for one will be misty that night...


As for Brees , well he's no better than Jay and we needed that 3rd corner to go with Pat & Sam.

Actually , I would be more surprised to walk into a Golden Corral on a Thursday night and not find anyone over 65 then to find Fletch on the payroll again.

If he got drafted a Phin he wouldn't be here anymore. He had just as many horrible seasons as Fletcher did.

No one would even be talking about him today if it wasn't for Rivers acting like a child and holding out.

Kudos to Brees, he never gave up and it looks like he will be a future Pro Bowler in Miami after all =OP
 
Brees struggled his forst two years in SD. No doubt he would have moved on to another team by now if drafted by Miami.

But why complain, the time is now, and now Brees seems like a perfect fit.
