Report: Candidates being steered away from Dolphins GM job

Pretty much. I read PFT and Florio is a huge WV fan.

When the Dolphins drafted Pat White, Florio kept talking him up and declared himself "now a Dolphins fan." I'd bet he even bought a jersey. When the Dolphins cut him, he got real sour on the team.

Is what it is.

God are people still talking about that............

doesnt anyone find it odd that farmer did a cleveland browns vid at senior bowl?

I dont think he is coming.

Money talks.

Then what are you worried about? Ross is one of the wealthiest owners in the league. We hear the same garbage from the media every time the Redskins head coaching job comes open. "No one will want to take that job and work for Daniel Snyder", but every time that job comes open he gets a big name coach or the top "hot" college head coach or a top NFL coordinator. The Dolphins will get someone that is more than qualified to take the GM job regardless of rumors of "dysfunction" spewed by the media.

ross being out of town during the most important hire of his young ownership looks VERY disfunctional.

and, looks like they have made up their mind who it is. and its probably GAINE.

PROMOTING GAINE: worst move ross could make. we are going to move up IRELANDS lacky? the guy who was so instrumental [according to the media reports] in gathering the "talent" for jeff ireland? you HAVE TO BE KIDDING? plus, if they bring all these guys in the door who have MUCH MORE experience in personel, one a former gm, then it will cement the idea around the league that miami truely IS a disfunctional team with no real direction. the candidates that DID interview will remember being jerked around as nothing but a pacifier for the fans that looked high and low for the "right" gm but in the end hired irelands lacky. gaine would be the nail in the already poor reputation ross DOES have around the league.

PLUS: boss ross is on the plane AND saying more candidates are coming in? WTF?

and finally....... NONE OF THE FINZ STAFF IS AT THE SENIOR BOWL? has that ever happened? has there ever been a staff that did not send ONE of there staff to such an important talent event?

this gives credit to 3 things: the choice is and always has been BRIANE GAINE. he has already been studying this years crop of college players. they keep him away from what would be a SWARMING media all over him about the GM position, is he really a candidate? does he actually want the job? who is the ral candidate for the job? is the organization as disfunctional as reported? and we havnt heard one peep from him anywhere. and 3? all this makes this topic of the people around the league steering candidates away from TAKING the gm gig in miami. and thats whats meant, not INTERVIEWING because that helps a guys career, that he was CONSIDERED for a promotion on a team. TAKING the job is another story. and i do believe as of now, this rumour of steering candidates away from miami could actually be true. bad organization, cloudy direction, dawn aponte, and seething pay back from liberal and militant media over the [still impending] martin situation.

its a mess. its gone on to long and we all know, where theres smoke, there is fire. where there is a LOT of smoke, there is a BIG fire!!

and...... i think the aponte-gaine-ratfinkle 3 headed power monster is apparent. and who wants to try and gm under that?

The same guys who said we wouldnt get a quality OC, and said no one wanted the job, had no clue Lazor was our main target and that he wanted the job. Not one rumor about that.

Yet they continue to act like they know what's going on, and continue to bash us. Not sure why these guys are so focused on bashing us, but its def getting old.

Worse is the Mia fans who continue to eat it up.

We will never know if Lazor was our main target but I ok with the hire. A lot of questions but it could be a good hire. Def a better hire than Kevin Coyle in my opinion

At this point I don't give a **** what the media says, and I don't care why they play chinese whispers, but we interviewed 7 quality candidates.

How many candidates did the other GM opening interview? maybe 3?

I just love how if someone doesn't interview it becomes nobody wants the job. If I haven't read the same damn article for the last few weeks from the same 3 people I'd be more inclined to care or believe it.

Well quality will always be a matter of opinion but hell there are basically few GM openings so we still have plenty of time to decide. Its disappointing that Decosta had no interest but Im sure some good canidates are somewhat apprehensive about coming here ( nothing at all to do with the idiotic Bess rumblings). That being said we do have some interesting canidates, none blow me away but im open to giving a guy a chance

The Miami Dolphins are currently the ONLY opening. We can absolutely take as much time as we want. I don't think that we should, but we can.

And I'm absolutely sure the candidates are upset with how long this is taking. Quite frankly, I don't care.

Hire Gaine. I am on the Gaine bandwagon now. Best fit and good talent eval.
