Report: Jonathan Martin "gone AWOL

So .... he couldn't have done this BEFORE the trade deadline?
 
Martin's a huge douche. I heard from a friend the other day that he went to a restaurant when it was closing. Kept it open for hours after close and then didn't even leave the poor server a tip. We shouldn't excuse his being a whiny ******* as a symptom of a deeper mental problem. He could just be a scumbag and should be held accountable for it.

Think about it. Dude been picked on since day 1, calling him big weirdo in the locker room. Toss in everyone in media bashing the guy how he is weak and soft etc.

Makes me wonder if his own teammates are bashing him too.

Gauranteed. Blood in the water, team looking for answers, finger pointing, no leadership, the weak get eaten. Sadly, the opportunity to lead is born in these moments. But it takes a true leader to stand up for another man and bring order back to the chaos.

It doesn't sound like there is a leader in the locker room. If there is, he's not much of one. And maybe part of the problem, as well.
 
we can only pray for the guy and hope nothing is really wrong with him

well don't look in Sherman's direction; his idea of leadership is calling out his players on HBO and threatening them with being cut on camera - oh yeah he's a guy you wanna go to war for

Running down the street, slashing your own neck with a knife, is mental illness (Dimitrius Underwood, 1999).

Throwing your cafeteria food tray on the floor after a practical joke gone awry, is just stress & immaturity.
 
And how much maturity does it take to turn on your own brothers on the field?


It amazes me how bullies are glorified.

And I suppose the case of Barrett Robbins of the Raiders was just stress and immaturity as well? You need to educate yourself as to the causes of mental illness and mental breakdowns.

Yes but we don't know him. Not excusing his behavior but we have no idea how he is struggling. Let's not judge him but support him and hope he gets himself together.
 
sounds like a mentally weak temper tantrum to me, if a blowup like that is a sign of mental illness we should be committing 3/4 of the worlds population, myself included

Throwing a cafeteria food tray on the ground is not equivalent to attempted murder.

People need to take responsibility for their actions, rather than hiding behind claims of mental illness. It's like celebrities & politicians who get in drunk driving crashes, and then check into a Malibu rehab center. It's a way for them to go from being considered an irresponsible criminal, to garnering sympathy for a mental illness.
