Ricky Williams, Fake Or Real?

you can move on with the team and Ricky still be on it if the players have no issue with it why should you.

A question: Do you believe that Ricky would have come back if he didn't lose the $8.6 mil law suit?

If he contributes to the team's success and has his teammates' backing, I don't care why he came back.

That is what it all comes down to. If the results are there then the why doesn't matter.

When you go to work, do you do it for the love of your job or do you do it for money?

You can't just collect a paycheck in the NFL or you will get killed. It's a sport that requires dedication most of the offseason as well, he made it clear he doesn't like football and if he was financially secure he would not be back.

I hope all the Ricky haters at the end of the season arent changing their minds. I am not happy with what Ricky did last year but with the way Wannstedt was coaching I am not sure if I would have done the same thing. Anyways I welcome Ricky back whether it be for the money or for his ego or whatever the reason he was a top back. And hopefully in the preseason we can get a glimpse of that Ricky that we were praising 3 years ago. Lets start over fresh we have a deep backfield some mediocre Qb's that I hope will show up in 2005-2006. A aging defense that I think is top 10 if not top 5. And hopefully a much improved O-line. Lets give Ricky a chance to make it up to the FANS & his TEAM. Ricky Dolfin Fans Welcome you back. Dont Let us Down.

SUPERBOWL IN 2006 WHO IS WITH ME.

A guy can dream cant he

Let's give RW a break. He has a mental disease that makes it difficult to cope in a social environment. Playing as a member of a team is important to him. I don't think that money is the most important thing for him but it probably made the decision to return easier. I hear some reporters say that he is a phoney, but I totally disagree. He is one hell of a football player and all Dolphin fans loved to see Ricky run. I think he will be in great football shape, with fresh legs, faster and will be a welcome addition to his team mates.

Let's sit back and watch Ricky run and give him our support.

Ronnie Brown has proven nothing in the NFL yet, I hope he turns out to be good, but many a runing back have had nice college careers and busted at the pro level. Ricky Williams is a stud at running back. He was one of the best in the nfl and has a rushing title to prove it. For the sake of this team we better hope he returns to form and fast. Lets face it, the guy is a nut job, we knew it when we got him and we know it now. The college careers of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are night and day. Ronnie Brown split time in college and Ricky Williams might be the second best college running back behind Herchel Walker. It would be nice to have two great backs on this team, especially after the many years we had none. Here's to Ronnie Brown and Ricky Willams having great pro careers for the Maimi Dolphins !!!!!!!!!!!!!

When did Herchel Walker win two Heisman trophies?

I have started this thread only in the complete frustration in all the press that he is gotten! I ask to my fellow Dolphin fans, do you think he is going to play for pride, and the team, or is this simply for the release of his debt? I would rather not have Ricky on the team at all if he is, which I believe just coming back to erase his debt, and to keep the mom's of his kids happy with more money.

i rather give the rock after Brown to Goron, Morris, and Kay-Jay and move on with this team. I know I will take crap from the Ricky backers, but I am just sick that this guy keeps getting all the pub, after he quit, and walked out on his team!

While I do agree that you dont want players just playing for the money, at the same time you have to realize that the best year most players have is thier contract year. Why is that, because they know they are going to get more money. Ricky I feel is no different, he is going to have to come back this year at a fairly low salary and is going to bust his butt to get back to getting the cash.

They way I see him now is the Mike Tyson of football. He still has all the tools that he needs the only question is his heart. If he gave everything he has, I think he will establish himself again as a NFL star, if he comes out and plays like he really dont want to be here, then he will fade into past very quick.

Excellent post, and not just because I think your avatar is smokin'. :D

People anticipate watching their players' performance in contract years, because they know they'll be "extra" motiviated to succeed. This is different, but the motivation to be paid as opposed to loving the game is a connecting thread..

No he did not. He made it clear that he loves the game and hates the business.
Once he's on the field, he's in his element and you'll see the same Ricky that's always played hard and fierce. He's not going to half-a$$ it for a paycheck.

Although, I can see why you hope he will....
