rohan davey vs tim couch

Ok ill play the *** that doesent know anything. Who is davey and who does he play for and what is his story?

what has davey done as a starter in any situation.

1. wins peach bowl as junior
2. sugar bowl mvp and victory as senior
3. wins world bowl and europe league offensive mvp w/ 105 passer rating

so as a starter all he has done is win. he has never had a chance to get into a rhythm behind brady. so what he hasn't done good in the most limited preseason. he needs to play more than a couple quarters.

he got a huge arm, great poise, great leader, and great pocket prescence. saban named him one of 3 captains as a junior before he was a starter. he has prior experience w/ saban.

couch can't even take the crowd booing at him. if dolphin fans start to boo him like the did fieldler he'd probably walk off the field and flip everyone off. he didn't make it out of green bay camp last year

davey has more talent in his little pinky toe than couch has in his whole body.

He didn't make it in Green Bay because he was injured, so don't use that. Couch is more talented, he just may not have the head to do it.

good call on green bay thing. i didn't know that. couch could end up being good but i don't understand why he is more talented than davey. he was drafted higher but that doesn't alway equal being more talented. i think davey has a harder time getting credibility because he doesn't have that golden boy look. he has more of the bubba gump look and people believe that is how talented he is. but when u see him before snap it is all focus and poise, calling out blitzes to teamates are pointing out defenses. he just has a very positive demeanor on the field. he was good enough to be brady's directy backup for the last few years so that at least shows some confidence from bb. only qb in lsu history to throw for more than 3000 yards in a season.

My problem is why did the Pat's bring in Flutie?? Maybe no faith in Davey? I don't know if this is so, but it seems like it.

Why is Cassel playing last night and not Davey? Maybe they just wanted to see cassel, but maybe they see a better future in him then Davey and want to see what he can do?

It's all a big question, being a big time college QB means nothing, see Ryan Leaf.

As I said, I'm not a big fan of both, I just think Couch is worth a look more then Davey is.

I guess it depends on what role you want the guys to play this year...Neither would be very familiar with the system, but if Couch comes in, is healed and practices well, he would be better than any other qb we have on the roster...If Davey comes in and practices well, he's still not better than Gus or AJ...He has the advantage of working with Saban before, but this offense is different than what Saban ran at LSU...Since I am under the impresssion that Gus will be our demise this year, I'd rather see Couch in here...if he is healthy...

Rohan....

...but I'd rather draft Omar Jacobs, Vincent Young, Matt Lienhart or Chris Leak next year.

Hey it's Friday!

Tim Couch. I just think if he's healthy he could take his game to the next level. This was a player who was compared to Peyton Manning coming out and was able to carry his team at Kentucky. He got stuck with an expansion team in Cleveland, which took its toll injury and developmental-wise.

Davey has some nice tools, but accuracy is a big problem for him. Not so if Couch is healthy, granted that is a big if.

Davey is not happy in NE and I believe that a change of scenery would benefit him well. He reminds me of Culpepper but Davey's short game needs work. I think that the Linehan offense would suit him well as well as being reunited with Saban.

People want to count out Davey after not performing to expectations in NE, well Davey wants to be a starter not a backup to Tom Brady his whole career. The reason Flutie was brought in was because he is a very capable backup with loads of experience.

Those that think Couch brings any form of upside/potential, well, I question their thinking. (to put it very lightly)

There's some good arguments for Davey. He really did pretty darn well in NFL Europe, and there's been speculation about him for a while coming back to Saban.

I guess it's cheesy but I'd have to defer to Saban. Saban knows Rohan better than any of us could hope to know him. If he can look at our roster of quarterbacks and say, I KNOW that Rohan is better than this guy right here, then maybe we should go after Rohan instead of Couch just by virtue of having a known rather than an unknown quantity.

Yeah.. spot on CK, IMO.

Who knows? IMO, a change of scenery might do Davey some good.
For some reason I just think he'd be a good fit here..
