Answer my question............ how do you rank him in the afc alone?
I never rank any player because they are all in different situations but if this will make you happy. Based on talent, I would say he's in the Top 5. Based on production, Top 7.

Do you rank him better than Ltomlinson, Larry Johnson, Willie Parker, Fred Taylor, Rudy Johnson, hell Joseph Addai?

At the same point in their careers, I would rank him ahead of Larry and Rudi Johnson because both Johnsons basically did nothing their first two seasons. Fred Taylor is one of the most gifted runners in football but cannot stay healthy. Taylor is also an inconsistent blocker. Willie Parker is the smallest and fastest of the bunch but is not much of a blocker or receiver, although he did improve last year. Joseph Addai has the pleasure of playing with two future Hall of Famers and the most stable offenses in football.
LOL, not even a fair comparison, both guys were riding the pine behind Pro Bowl players; Ronnie has had the green light from jump street and has been "decent" at best . . . when the above two guys got the green light they shined right off the bat . . .
try again . . .
Oh so now it's not a fair comparison to compare players because they were not good enough to get into the game on a regular basis until their 3rd season? Yes they sat behind Pro Bowl players but they also played with Pro Bowl quarterbacks and offensive linemen.
You can keep ignoring the facts that when Brown gets the carries, he is a very good running back.
lol . . . are you saying that Ronnie Brown would push Priest to the bench?? He wouldn't even have pushed Dillon to the bench . . .
funny stuff . . .
Now, here's a good question for you. Do you think this years offensive line will be better? Will our QB play be better? Is thier more weapons in the recieving core?

He is decent , but he hasn't done enough to warrant the #2 overall pick . . .
Interesting thread. Even more interesting is the counterpoint of how statistics can be used either way. But somehow I still feel we should just give Ronnie the damn ball!
He hasn't done enough because he hasn't been given enough opportunities. Which is what the original poster was talking about. Why is this so hard to understand?
there has to be a reason why he isnt given the opportunities??
Some of the blame has to go to him . . .
can he withstand the pounding?? has he ever been a fulltime back???
Because our former head coach wanted to limit him to 16-18 carries per game.
While Ronnie is not blameless and at times does show a lack of patience when running the ball, he also shown that with more carries, IMO because he doesn't think as much, he is a very good back.
Ronnie has not been a fulltime back since high school but neither was Cadillac Williams.
