I believe even with Ingram, another in the line of veterans on the slight downside, teams will continue to attack the middle, which moves the safeties up, then Boom, the deep ball which Byron Jones is susceptible to. Pray it’s not Iggy back there. Another top of the line LB would discourage some if that. IMO.

It was reported earlier today that Smith is going to play this coming season under his present contract with the Bears. If the Bears and Smith can’t work out a long term contract after the 2022 season, they might decide to explore trade possibilities then but I fully expect him to play in Chicago this coming season.
