Ross gives McDaniel vote of confidence?

Just do it... If you are this mad over us winning, pick another team and be happy. Life is short
Im not mad tho, I didn't care at all about the outcome of yesterday's game.

Were not making the playoffs anyway, so it really didn't matter to me. I spent most of the time yesterday rooting for my fantasy playoff players.

Ya it is two different things but a lot of people are suggesting get rid of Grier but they want to keep McDaniel. The bottom line is that should be the decision of the new GM.
So you are fine if they hire a GM that likes McD and relates the intent to keep him during the interview process?

Well, you state it like the new hire would definitely be totally against keeping McD, when that is pure speculation.

I can see a situation where a new GM would be fine keeping him for a year. Let's be honest here. The initial year of a new GM is going to be more about clearing cap and drafting well than anything else.

IOW, the way you keep phrasing it is not a "given". It is a possibility, but no more.
Didn’t really think of that as I always said any top rated GM would want his own people and would probably walk away if that wasn’t the case that maybe that is true. But, as you said, he could’ve evaluate him over the year and drop the axe then. I do think the top tier elite ones whoever that is wouldn’t go for that though, but who knows

Exactly! No top tier potential GM will come to Miami without total control to do what he needs to do and that includes hiring his own head coach if that is what he chooses to do.

I would be.

McDaniel is still very young for a head coach, I'd be fine giving him more time, Grier has had 3 head coaches, spent 20 years here without once seeing the team win a playoff game. He shoulda been fired with Flores.

If Grier did his ****ing job and built a dominant Oline, which is required for McDaniels scheme to work, I think McDaniel would be fine.

Yep. That "win" against the 9ers was something. We dropped down further in the draft and added years to the grier/mcd misery in Miami.

A game ball from the owner for barely squeeking by another gutter bum team? That's excitement for us now? Pass the fentanyl!! This is a nightmare we're not waking up from for a while.

Y'all have fun working out those astronomical scenarios of making the playoffs. I don't even think MIT's math department can work that out.
Winning is good but … your points are valid.

I wish this wasn’t the case.

meh......

It is amazing how many people find misery in even positive events

To quote Sinatra, "Some people get their kicks, stomping on a dream"

It is kind of weird that some actively root against the Fins making the playoffs, because it would make it difficult to blow up a team that went to the playoffs 3 years in a row... On a Miami Dolphins message board.

I think it’s more about hoping and aiming for higher than getting into the playoffs with serious flaws… knowing you’re going to get smashed and be one and done.
