Ross: Marshall was going to be cut/Other issues addressed

OK which one of you is Jason Lawrence and why on earth didn't you ask why Ireland hasn't been fired yet ???

Again about Flynn, if Philbin wanted him he would be our QB I have no doubt.

absolutely the smartest PR move Ross has had to date. a few more of these and he WILL start winning some of the fans back.

it is possible that trading two number 2's for marshall was a good move, and trading him for two number 3's two seasons later was a good move. and i believe it happened in this situation. marshall was drafted by denver and spent his whole career there, and eventually wore out his welcome. we feel a change of scenery/bring him back to florida would work wonders for him. give him a second chance. we give up two number 2 picks. deal done. flash forward two seasons. marshall wears out his welcome with the dolphins, his second team. even more of a pattern is beginning to reveal itself with him. philbin is hired and soon realizes, there is no way we go into OTA's etc. with him on the roster. ireland starts making phone calls. no takers. what does that tell you? by some stroke of luck, jay cutler has a soft spot in his heart for the big BM and convinces the bears to bring him in. somehow we get two third round picks (including the bears earlier third this year, don't know how that happened). again, he was not going to be on our team no matter what (even if we had to cut him - as unlikely as that sounds it was a remote possibility), so getting these two draft picks and a team to pick up the remaining $27 or whatever million on his contract was nothing short of miraculous. so at the time we traded for him i thought it was a good trade, and i feel trading him to the bears now is a good trade. it would have been even better if we had gone to the playoffs the years he was here, but that didn't happen.

But it shouldn't take a nationally publicized small gathering (Protest) to get that.

Ross did this for one reason, so ppl would not give up there season tickets and other fans would buy tickets. Reaches out to this 1 fan and makes it public, lol at ppl who cant see why this was done. Its trying to save face for the worst offseason in dolphins history, striked out on 3 qbs who didnt want to play in miami cause of our gm, traded away a troublemaker receiver for nothing which for some reason ross thinks 3rd round picks are valuable in the nfl, there not most of the time and very unlikely to be anything good so we pretty much got that nothing ross is talking about, lets not even mention the desean jackson fiasco, if thats true which many ppl including myself believe to be true, the dolphins are doomed until ross and ireland sell this team and get out town.

While other teams hit home run signings, the dolphins sit back on there cheap ways contanstly saying money is not an issue but yet wont pay flynn or alex smith the money they deserve. If moneys not an issue ross why are you always saying well why are we going to pay him that much hes not proven, really??? if its not issue why are you always bringing money into the equasion? seems like the dolphins biggest problem is money. We are cheap with our money, and stubborn with our draft picks. We refuse to believe a player is worth taking in the 1st round, always trading down ect..... Jimmy johnson was the last coach worth a damn in miami, hopefully philbin is the next but i sure as hell dont have anything telling me this is the year this thing gets turned around. Terrible start to the season, could not have been worse and trying to save face by doing this makes it all worse. Ross should have kept quiet but by now dolphins fan should not be surprised, the dum route is the new dolphin way.

Not me. I would rather have Marshall ON the team than two 3rd round picks.

Was not saying you, I do not agree with you many times but you have never one of these people. This happens way too much on board, rember how people tore into Porter as soon as he was cut. I agree the two third rounders were not good value funny too that many people said dont trade Marshall no matter what and now they are quiet as hell.

I just find it funny all the people on here talking **** about the protesters and how dumb it was and look it reached the owner of the team and he called a Guy to talk to him about what has happened. I think that's pretty cool.

Did you bother reading the article?

"I was nervous as hell," Lawrence said. "I was shaking, and everything. I thought they were going to be upset. ...It was the coolest thing I ever did in my whole life."
Sounds like this was staged. If not, it sounds as though they spoke to the wrong fan. Why in the Hell would you be nervous? Ross and Ireland are destroying this team! I would have rip into him and told him he is foolish to be getting advice from an idiot like Ireland.
