Ross sending a message that he accepts mediocrity and failure

My feeling is philbin is an average coach. Which means we'll hang in there throughout the season but ultimately come up short. That's the last two seasons with philbin as the coach. I'll stand by what I said yesterday...move on from Ireland and philbin. You bring philbin back and hire a new GM, how often does that workout?

I've been using the term "coaching vacuum" since our loss to Tampa. C'mon guys, we have a complete lack of talent ... at ALL levels. Including coaching, front office, scouting, and players. The only exceptional talent we have on this team are the cheerleaders.

I'm actually quite grateful for them.

So that's where the players get their mentality. The owner stands around waiting for someone else to make a play just like the players do. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this organization.
I don't think Ross has a damn thing to do with the attitude of the players.

However, Ross is accountable for keeping terrible decision makers in charge of the franchise.

So you fire the head coach.Miami is going to be any good coaching canidant 3rd chose. The Texans have a better roster and the 1st pick in the draft. And the Lions have a far better roster than us.

Is the Texans' roster that much better? Why did they only win two games?

I think the Texans' talent is grossly overrated. JJ Watt is incredible but Arian Foster is the most overrated dude on the planet, Andre Johnson can't stay healthy, and they aren't knocking my socks off after that.

Just because Ross is taking time and hasn't fired anyone within 24 hrs doesn't mean he won't make the right decisions. There's no kneejerk requirement here.

Can't act quickly when you do things "by committee", like Ross...we will get rid of the OC as a scapegoat after there aren't any good ones left on the market...

Actually, there is a need. The good candidates out there go fast...

The OP is right on this so far. There's a reason why the Monday after week 17 is called 'Black Monday' and yet Ross is silent. From
Schwartz, to Chud, to Schiano, many other coaches are getting canned today. At the very least if Philbin and Ireland are not fired by the end of this week, then its the status quo in 2014.
