Ross to pay for renovations?

I'm glad Ross is listening to me. I started a thread during the scandal suggesting that he do exactly this to turn his PR around and become a So. Fla hero. Mr. Ross and/or associates please PM me if you'd like to discuss a position in the organization.

Sure it is. He is making an investment in a property that will easily bring the missing property tax money back to the community. Between the construction contracts, Super Bowls, college football bowls and the prospect of more people coming to games….this is a great deal for South Fla.

Don't forget the higher prices for premium box seats......he will most definitely get the money back for this investment....not to mention when he decides to sell the team....

the canopy is not necessary for the superbowl since it is played at night...I really hate that idea because the sun is the dolphins biggest home field advantage in the early part of the season...we started losing it when we got the bubble and stopped practicing in the 200 degree 1000% humidity...

the seats need more leg room more than anything else...I honestly dont know what 400 million is going to do for the stadium...the way the concrete is put together what are they doing to the stadium that improves it so much they can get the superbowl over an new stadium in san fran?

The canopy only covers the seats, so the light and heat should pretty much be the same for the players. I think it is a necessity for the Super Bowl bid because the NFL complained that it rained on the fans during the Colts/Bears Super Bowl. Which is a joke because they just held the Super Bowl in New York where it could have snowed on fans.

Maybe the inner renovations but the canopy I highly doubt would be ready until next year earliest.

Hey, if Ross, the univ of Miami, and the city of Miami don't have the vision, intellect, or common sense to understand what a multi plex canes and dolphins venue designed to take advantage monetarily and competitively of a true 12 concept and rekindle the atmosphere both programs used to have and where they got their identities, and why they both have lost theirs, then I will settle for lipstick on a pig, when you are at the worst by far, I'm not gonna complain, it's just a shame that the suits don't get the impact what they COULD accomplish with an extra 500 mill....Would make that back on the 12 the man advantage in no time, Seattle is bringing in 10's of millions per year extra on ticket season tickets sales, merchandising, publicity, local tv ratings/ commercial advertising, culture building entities, and an obvious competitive advantage that is so tangible it's unfair but brilliant,

I have decided the best way to get this done is to pay for the project with private funds. All we ask in return is that we are treated the same as all franchises in the state of Florida. Nobody thinks he's a bad owner because he spends money.

Many people, however, feel he's a bad owner because he let incompetents run the team and often doubled down on their incompetence (i.e. giving Sparano an extension for 2011, retaining Ireland for 2012 and 2013). When you give Sparano a vote of confidence after the disaster that was the end of the 2010 season, and when you let Ireland muddle around with one draft too many, you're not making good decisions hence you're not being a good owner (and Philbin, so far, hasn't looked like the second coming of Shula either).

I hope there's a roadblock and this plan completely falls through. It would be devastating for this community and for the two occupying football teams to be stuck in that building and in that location for subsequent decades.

Anything can be misconstrued as a positive if your value system is lame or simple enough. I just changed my transmission fluid. I suppose I could have dumped the old stuff on my lawn or in my pool and briefly marveled at the nice red tint. Disregard the cost in the morning. That's the problem with Steve Ross. All the down the road terrible mornings he causes, based on inept values and decision making toward football. Last year there were threads here touting the resigning of Reshad Jones. Great, assign big money to a mediocrity, because it eases the fear and makes you feel good at the time. You'll fare well applying that concept to every variable. This issue is no different.
