I have to say i never really thought that Fisher was all that great but id Like to thank Ross for standing up and refusing to give into Fishers Personnel demands. The Gm shouldn't be over ruled on General Management decisions By the head coach. Thank you MR ross. I Know many fans will flame you for this decision in the short term BUT in a few years many of us will be thanking you for standing ground! I believe that for the first time in about a decade the Miami Dolphins are finally on the right track thanks to this decision to not give int a head coaches demands to try and hold us hostage!

:hclap::hclap::hclap::hclap:

GO PHINS!!

P.s. Go get CHUD!

Exactly! I don't know why fans hate Ireland so much. Without Ireland there would be no Reggie bush, Brandon Marshall, good dept in defense and a very promising Pouncey.

i agree, glad he wasn't so "big name" hungry that he gave in to whatever Fisher wanted...

this gives Ross credibility to me, doesn't look like the begging owner who will be pushed around and concede anything to get his way...

Amen, right you are. This guy's been out of the league for awhile and as we saw we Sham Cameron and Weasel Boy Saban, giving personnel oversay to those who are just coaches ends up hurting the roster with horrible drafts and offseasons.

You just got the feeling over the last few days that on Fisher's part this wasn't about coaching the best team he could, it was about power, control and money, which is Fisher's right, obviously, but doesn't leave the team or fanbase thinking their coach's head or heart is in the right place.

I, too, hope Chud comes in.

"Mr Mediocre" wouldn't even be on the radar if experienced actual winning coaches were available. Can't blame Fisher for trying to wrest the kind of control his past performance doesn't warrant, but attaboys to Ross for drawing that line in the sand.

great move until you remember who our GM is...

Agreed!!! Thank You Mr Ross for doing the right thing and not giving in to the demands of these coaches that want to do it all and have all the say. Thank You Thank You Thank You

It just amazes me hearing the fans about to jump from the cliff on the radio!?! haha This is a situation where we all fell in love with the hot girl at the dance...problem is we fell too much in love with her cause she was the only pretty girl there. (BTW when i say we i speak of fans in general and not me)

Who is to say another GM couldn't have worked a deal with Reggie or Brandon or Matt Moore, in all likelyhood we would have Dez Bryant on our team and possibly quaterback, and Matt Moore fell into our lap because he wasn't Irelands first choice.

Yea way to go Ross.... We wouldn't want a coach with a proven track record that would have been able to assemble an all star staff.

It's much better to keep Jeff "What's a playmaker?" Ireland

I do not agree with you guys. I think we missed out on a great coach. Time will tell.
Fisher would have brought stability and excellent assistants to the team.
Now we are looking at rookie head coaches and whatever scraps of assistants that are willing to answer to a rookie.
It doesn't look good to me at all.
We have regressed again..if that is possible.

so 6 playoff appearances in 16 years is proven now?

I have to say I am relieved this is over too. I am not a big fan of Fisher, and would rather have someone like Zimmer, Philbin, Chudzinski, or Les Miles. I have to give credit when due, Ross stood his ground, letting Fisher know who the real boss is in Miami.

Buh bye Fisher, see you in Miami later this year when we pound the Rams into dust. :brewskis:

It seems as Mr. Ross likes to have his GM seperate from the Coach!!! Guy's like Jimmy Johnson (drafted well defensively), Nick Saban and Wanny all had complete control and Didn't get the job done for various and some obvious reasons ... Ross went with his gut, and saw how little success "Total Control Coaches" have had ... He is the OWNER and did what he felt was right for his team!!! I applaud him for his stance and instinct!!! Now just find a candiate that can work with a GM over his head and away we go!!!
