RUMOR: Dallas interested in acquiring Lamar Miller

If you think we should trade Miller even for a first, you're retarded. Yes, if you are talking about what Miller would be worth on the trade market, its probably more like a second or third, but last I checked the point isn't to have a bunch of draft picks, the point is to win football games. I'm sorry, but to trade away what is easily the best weapon on your offense when what you have behind him is an undrafted free agent, a rookie with a knee so bad most teams wouldn't even draft him, and the ability to sign a guy who played three games for you and had a serious injury in two, that's the height of ludicrous.

Lamar Miller in this offense is one of most effective weapons in the league, and it's not his fault that his offensive staff managed games so poorly that they actually threw the ball 50 times in games where he was averaging more per rush than they were per pass.
Trading an above average player (at best) in the last year of his contract for a 1st would make us "retarded" (your parents failed)?

Well go ahead and clear that up for those people.
I don't think we should have traded Welker. He showed a lot the prior year and he had heart.

It's been cleared up enough on here over the past, what, 8 years? The onus is now on the ignorant. Try Google. Trading Miller would have nothing in common.

5.1 ypc
1099 yards
Behind last year offensive line.

I would say with 2 more solid linemen to compliment Pouncey and Albert he is capable of 12 to 1500. But not now with all the weapons we just acquired. I guarantee Dallas would get it out of him.

You cant just multiply average and say what a guy would get. Joseph Randle would cut more into his carries is not DeMarco Murray

Some of these comments are so laughable on here. If Miller isn't on this team, we have no running game whatsoever. Ajayi? Damien Williams? Lolol. Unreal the nonsense that can be read on this site.

No way would I trade our best rb just as we revamped our offense. Him and Ajayi on paper sounds really complimentary

Didn't expect this from you Gonzo. Just make your point. When you say "people still don't know what happened", just make your point. Or is it as simple as Trading Miller would have nothing in common.
Well it would. The commonality would be letting go of a good player you didn't have to. Don't get your point at all. The OP made a valid statement.

Welker was signed to a poison pill contract by New England and Miami cried foul. The league office mediated the issue and it ended with a forced trade to New England with an extra 5th rounder thrown in to pacify Miami. Welker wasn't willingly traded.

First rd pick in 2016 would be fair., Miller is that valuable. No for anything less.

Miami if they had put a first round tender would not have lost him but do we really want to think or dwell on that anymore ugh

He is valuable to us, in Dallas I'm not sure he is that much better than randle

Without a plan I would not want to trade miller but his value is more to is than anybody else. Those thinking atari could easily be a starter are way too pie in the sky. Running back needy teams passed on him again and again. Doesn't mean he won't be good but also means a little of teams did not see him as a starter.

Yet you can take same stats and have the opinion he doesn't have 1,500 yd ability. Personally I tend to agree, but not for the reasons you have expressed. I don't think he'll ever get to that because he won't have the opportunity.

As far as the actual ability, he more than has that ability. He ran for 1,100 yds last year basically by accident. Imagine what he could do behind a batter OL and entire season as the feature RB.

I doubt it ever happens however.

I don't think a team like dallas would give it to him full time. He doesn't have that extra that Murray has. I didn't use any stats to justify anything. I just don't see him as equal to Demarco Murray in any way.

Bottom line, they let him get away. Why does it have to be some complicated. Miami did not have to let it get to that. End of story.
So why let Miller get away. That was the OP's point. I agree.
