RUMOR: Developing Story: Matt Moore on the Trade Block !!!!!!!!!!!!

ha ha look at this bag of bs...according to this the guys a freaking all pro...how the hell does he only make backup money and draw no starter interest whenever he's a free agent??? pretty sure i know how...

"STRENGTHS: Moore, 26, is an athletic quarterback with the arm strength to make every NFL throw with good zip. When he strides into his throws, he is an accurate passer—on short, intermediate and deep passes. He throws a good deep ball, showing the ability to drop in a deep touch pass or zip a 25-plus yard throw on a rope. Though his production against the blitz isn’t always good, he doesn’t panic against pressure and force throws into bad spots. He is very willing to throw the ball away. He has a quick, efficient delivery, which helps him get rid of the ball quickly. He has shown a knack for making good 10-plus yard throws in third-and-long situations. He leads receivers effectively, and when his target is well-covered, he does a good job of throwing the ball where only the receiver can make a play on the ball. He stands strong in the pocket, waiting for a chance to make a good throw right before he gets hit"

Personally I can't see it happening just for the fact that we would have a backup that would need time to learn offense ! Starting to think maybe they should have kept the 3rds string guy we just cut! If this ends up true! He at least had a grasp of the offense and these new guys are going to take some time to learn! Quinn could be worse than what we had in both backups! As for the LBs I think they will be ok!

Moore has the most value after week one if the starter for another team goes down... That would be when I consider trading him, unless of course the Cowboys are worried about Romo's back and they make me a good offer now.

Im pretty sure they would bring kyle orton back before that since he played well as a backup for them

Kyle Orton has all but filed the retirement paperwork

Doesn't matter not to mention they have Brandon Weeden and Caleb hanie on roster, Dallas for one has no reason to trade for him plus they cant afford him.

If Tannehill goes down we are screwed anyway, I have never understood the hype with Moore especially at over $5 million. That being said, I like Quinn even less so if we can get some Linebacker depth for Moore I am all for it

The hype is because he was arguably a spark plug the year we started out 0-7 and finished on a relatively strong note given how bleak everything looked prior to him replacing an injured Chad Henne. Oh and by the way, Henne starting in the first place was pure buffoonery because Tony the Turtle was stubbornly going down with the ship with his "4 year collegiate starter". Moore wasn't even allowed to take plays with the 1's in camp.

Let's not forget that certain backup was elected team MVP by his peers. What's really funny is you guys are playing games with numbers. When he re-signed with us, it was a 2 year deal for $8 million. The fact that we're paying him $5 million in the second year is simply how it was structured. Only $4 million was guaranteed. As far as total money is concerned he got paid what a competent backup QB should. So you guys really need to stop pushing the facade.

What quality LB depth is out there for us to trade Moore for? I mean c'mon.

At this point who really cares. He is probably not any better than Quinn. In other words, Tannehill better stay healthy.

He probably, unless you, you know, can actually look up information that statistically shows one guy has performed pretty well at times while the other has been one of the worst QB's in the league. Moore has 33 TD's in 25 starts while Quinn has 12 TD's in 20, with 5 more INT's than TD's to boot. But, you know, the same.

I love it when people who irrationally hate Moore point out their ignorance.

Alright I will rephrase, what has he done in the last 3 years. I'm not saying he is a bad quarterback, but when you pay a back-up that kind of money he better show you more than he has in camp so far.

Matt Moore wouldn't take us to the playoffs if Tanny got hurt, and if he can't do that then why pay him over $5 million this year. We aren't saying he is bad, just simply overpaid for what he is. That is why the team structured his contract this way I'm sure.

I told you what he's done in the last three years WHEN he got the chance to play (see 2011). He came in during 2012 in the Jets game in their house against a tough defense and we came away with a win. Only other shot he had was vs. Buffalo last year, but c'mon some of you want to hold his feet to the fire for that? Really? That carries more weight than his entire body of work with us?

I still don't know what you're talking about when it comes to camp, he's been fine outside of the injury when he didn't practice last week. By the practice reports, he's been perfectly fine this whole week. Your salary complaints are irrelevant because you're playing shell games. He got paid FAIR market value for the contract he signed in 2012. You wanna argue he's overpaid this year, well in that same light he was underpaid last year. See what I just did there?

Proved my point......there was a reason they underpaid him last year and are now able to get out of a large chunk of it this year if they wanted too. I don't disagree that he is a good bak up quarterback, but if he is never going to play then what is the point. Do you really want to pay someone $5 million for a just in case we might need him, that really is our only point of disagreement. I don't think it's worth it and you do.
