(rumor) Lions could look at A.J.

he is? he's currently behind Sage, who right now, is an average backup

Read the entire post. This is not a game of absolutes. Some players fit better in different systems. He played well for Philadelphia as a backup and he showed flashes as a starter last season.
I stand by my original post.

Are you serious the dolphins would trade AJ for a slice of cheese pizza right now. Cheese not pepperoni

man forget the pizza theyll take the crust..

If the Detroit Lions or any team in the NFL offers us ANYTHING for A.J. Feeley, I say we should take it because of right now AJ is not even worth a 7th rounder. If Detroit offered us a 6th or 7th, we'd be getting the better end of the deal.

if detroit wants a backup QB, why dont they take Rohan?

and if Rohan was so good, why was he cut in preseason?

i can see why some would think about this roomer. aj is 3rd on the depth chart, and detroit needs a backup QB, maybe a replacement QB... but i dont see the fins trading aj for anything less than a 3rd. and IF the lions wanted a trade they would offer no more than a 6th.

as if anyone knows how much Nick Saban values 3rd string QBs at this point...

AJ also spent his college career and 4 years in Philly running the WCO that Detroit runs...

you bums want us to pick up other people's trash and trade for junk.

saban so far has done a damn good job drafting.

tahts where our future qb is going to come up.

Sorry but no link here, was reading on some message board or something how A.J. would be a good fit in Detroit and the Fins could be willing to trade him. Don't know if it would ever happen, but i'd give him up for a 5th or 6th rounder. Could be Saban's reason to bring Rohan on board too.

That just might become true except the Rohan part. Maybe we might hear Rohan on the practice squad soon though an not know it because he doesn't want to talk about that situation right now.

sage has never been given a chance.

gus is teh average backup.

aj looks like isn't going to prosper in our new system.

START SAGE.

he needs to be given a chance.

All this talk of AJ sucking, but in the same paragraph lets bring in Couch or Davey. Is this logical thinking? We all know that AJ probably is running out of chances, but look at the chances that Couch has. He couldn't cut it in Cleveland and was released from the Packers. But he has to be better than AJ. Davey has done nothing and aside from the fact that he was just released must mean he is better than AJ. I'm not an AJ homer, I just want production out of our qb position. We have perhaps the most talented group of receivers to play together in a very long time and I don't want that talent not to be shown on the field due to an ineffective qb. Let's quit talking about bringing in more backup garbage and thinking it is better than what we have. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

Well, this would actually be a good move for Feeley because he'd be back in the WCO that he directed in Philly and in college...It would be a good move for us, (and I say this even tho I've been an AJ supporter) because he'll never get a fair shake here...even if he gets to start, every time he throws the ball away because of good coverage, someone will post an 'AJ sucks' thread. However, that would leave us with the dilemma of having only a mediocre Gus that has some experience and mediocre backup with no starting experience (very little anyways)...Enter Couch...he has been injured and that was the main reason he was cut by GB...He wore out his welcome in Cleveland but was that due to the 2nd class FO clashing with Davis or strictly because of his talent ?? I don't think the FO was sold on Couch and Davis was stuck with a #1 pick and pressure to make him the starter...He played on some pretty bad teams in Cleveland, that had to have something to do with his lack of success. Rohan is usually listed here because of his connection with Saban...Couch has starting experience, needs time to get back into the game (which as a 3rd string QB for us would be able to) and IF HEALTHY, has the ability to be better than Gus or Sage...What is the issue with taking a flier on him, if we can dump AJ ??

Well, what you meant was Sage never took the opportunities given to him here ?? I just can't see, that if he couldn't beat out Feeley or Fiedler how he can be considered an option for us ???

He's been a better than average backup, so for you to say he's done absolutely nothing is just plain uninformed.
If Detroit is interested, it would be as a backup. He's probably more comfortable in their offensive system anyway, and they probably know that.

Actually you are incorrect. If you look over "average" stats for a QB this past year, AJ is right near the bottom. I agree that he has showed "glimpses" of talent but mostly he has proved to be below average.h
