This is interesting: I'm told Philbin wanted to trade for Branden Albert last year but Ireland said Dolphins would be fine with Martin at LT

Take it how you want.

I doubt that. Ireland is all about big Tackles. Philbin is all about athleticism. I also think drafting Martin was Philbin's idea since that whole draft reaked of non-Ireland moves.

I think that was already stated a couple of weeks ago. Philbin wanted a backup plan to Martin at LT.

Meshes with the report that Joe told the FO that Martin straight up could not play left tackle. You can choose whether or not to believe it, because at this point people inside the Dolphins are going to pin the blame for everything on Jeff Ireland, but I think it's obvious that there was a huge disconnect between the personnel department and the coaching staff.

Why you don't mix and match Head Coaches and GMs lol

My rebuttal to that:

I believe that Jeff Ireland's history with two head coaches, as well as his well publicized inability to get along with other human beings was the real issue there.

I don't necessarily think that Joe Philbin is a good head coach, but I do think that as far as dysfunctional individuals, ol' Jefflon took the cake there.

Jeff Ireland ran the personnel operations personally. I guarantee Joe had very little input in drafting and in free agency.

I'm told that now that Ireland has been fired that "everything that did or didn't happen" that effected the organization negatively will be squarely placed on Ireland.

Philbin is not responsible for the teams collapse or lack of in game adjustments.

Aponte? Well she just cooks the books in the kitchen.

All this from unnamed sources close to the situation.

That's why this hire right now is so important... Farmer/Caserio would probably not match Philbin's ideologies while Xanders' got the Shanny school which matches with ours a whole lot better.

A strong coach would have gotten that trade. Period.
