An obvious potential destination would be Miami, which now has a pipeline back to Dallas given the arrival of Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano and several players.
Williams, who turns 28 in August, still has the skills to be a solid contributor as a strong safety. His biggest weakness is pass coverage, but it always has been and he’s nevertheless made it to Hawaii straight times.
His first trip came after Parcells’ first year in Dallas, and surely Williams would be a welcome addition to a rebuilding Dolphins team during Parcells’ first year in Miami.

Real Interesting stuff. I could see Williams being signed by Miami. Bell is coming back from a torn Achilles, and he was not the fastest guy to begin with. Allen and Davis will both stick around if Williams stays. The guys I could see gone are Crocker or Hill. Allen could also be moved back to CB for the one million time and Crocker or Davis could Start at FS

i wouldnt mind if we signed him we definitly need better players for our secondary

I have always liked Roy a little. I would welcome the signing of him.

Im surprised nobody has mentioned the possibility of Allen, Hill or Crocker being moved back to CB. If we were to bring in Williams, he would most likely play SS & Bell would most likely back him up. Allen, Crocker or Hill will fight for the starting spot at FS. Now, Allen would most likely win and Keith Davis would back him up. I wonder if Crocker can play CB. Hill I see as the odd man out the guy is coming back from a very serious injury and I dont see him making this team. Offcourse these are just scenarios in case Williams is signed, but it will defitnetly be fun to see what Ireland and Parcells think of Williams once he hits FA. Another interesting thing will be what other players we will pick up from Dallas waive wire.

Sammy Knight was awesome when he was with this team, and it sucked to see him go. People seem to critize the guy for his speed, but he is a Play Maker. Roy is a PlayMaker and I would take a young Sammy Knight any day.

He's lost a step and is like one Horse Collar tackle away from being suspended for the year. I've always liked the way he plays because he's a hard nosed intimidating SS and maybe a change of scenery would do him some good.

I'll take anyone we can get to improve our secondary.

Ours is so bad it's more like a third-ary.

I think we will be looking at any veterans Corners who mught be released. A come back of Surtain or Madison to Miami is not to far fetched. Also, Jason Allen could be moved back to corner for the billion time.

I don't want too see Jason Allen getting moved again. This kid started to find a comfort zone at the safety position and moving him again, will once again screw up his development.

I agree, and while Im throwing the idea out there im not supporting it. I thik both Crocker & Hill have played CB before, so there is a possibility of seeing one of those two going back to corner. I think our Safety position will look like this if Williams some how become a Dolphin.

FS: Allen, Davis
SS:Williams, Bell.

Now all this talk about Williams is not for sure, just rumors another team can throw him sick money and he could wind up some where else. That is why I see the safety Position looking morel like this.

FS: Allen,Crocker
SS: Bell,Davis

we wont sign him.. to much money..
and if davis actually had playing time at safety this season its going to be all bad.. he is a special teamer.. I think Crocker has a very good chance at starting. Ill be surprised if Hill is back this year

I would like this move at the right cost to us of course and I wouldn't get rid of anybody if we don't have to. Lets let them battle in out in camp and may the best man win. The others we can keep for certain D packages and for depth. I didn't realize R. Williams was only 28. I thought he was a bit older. That's great!
