I think Mike Nolan deserves a lot of blame for this. I know he did a pretty good job last year and nobody wants to rip on him, but how do you get this bad on defense this quickly with basically the same personnel?

Ireland is a tool. If he stays on we're in for 5-6 more years of crap until we change regimes again. If Gruden would agree to come here and play under Ireland then I'm not excited about Gruden at all.
 
Honestly doubt any of this Jon Gruden stuff speculation is true. You guys honestly think 4 games in, after sharing confidence in Sparano not so long ago, that Ross would let a story like this leak?

Unfortunately I think there's a better chance Ross gives Sparano one more year with a new quarterback to see if anything changes before he goes after a new coach. But I sure hope I'm wrong.... Sparano is a ******* on headphones. Has no business being on a football field.

Coaches like Cowher, Gruden, etc would demand final say on decisions in terms of free agency and draft. Ireland would be more like a consultant rather than a GM.
 
I don't get the churning of the roster ****. He makes weird moves.

You watch if Reid seat gets hot in Philly, Gruden will go there OR watch what happens in St. Louis.

I like Gruden a lot, but lots of work to do there.
 
imo ireland is just as guilty as sparano for the mess we have right now in south florida ,and if ross wants to keep his butt buddie ireland he should move the team to LA let miami keep there name (miami dolphins) and take ireland with him, and let us get another team , imo i hope that no coach takes the job here with ireland onboard , why dont ross just let ireland be named head coach and move his *** to LA because imo ireland is more to blame than sparano is, i want the whole damn buch cleaned out and bring in all new staff. and if i was coaching irelands *** would be out the damn door right along with Tony.

imo we need a BIG BILL BOARD SIGN that says FIRE JEFF IRELAND AND TONY SPARANO OR WE WILL VETO .. THERE BOTH TO BLAME!!!!!!!!! it sure as hell worked in Denver. they listen to what the Fans had to say there .
 
If you're keeping Ireland you might as well keep Sparano as well. Become the Detroit Lions and pick #1 for a few years.

Gruden + Ireland just puts us back in 8-8 jail

how can you say gates is a bust if you havent seen him play. the only reps he really gets are at kick offs, of which yes, he does suck. aside from that he is on the field for what, three plays a games? and out of those three plays he is lucky if he gets one target.
 
If this is true, we are screwed even with Andrew Luck. Ireland is no fan of a wide open offense, and only is a Parcells minion. This is Matt Millen all over again, just only in So Fla, not Detroit.

For all we know it was Ireland who originated the idea to pursue Harbaugh as he was a hot commodity last season and Ross just went along. Ross isn't a football man, so I doubt it was his decision to pursue Harbaugh.

Jeff Ireland has never been affiliated with a long term winning team. He sucks. If were getting a new coach we need to can this bum too. What makes Ross think that we'll even get a top tier coach with this guy on board anyway??
