Russell Wilson could have been a Miami Dolphin

Ryan Tannehill + Mike Wallace have NEVER hit the deep ball in stride. EVER.

In order for Mike Wallace to blow the top off a defense, he needs to be paired with a QB like Ben Roethlisberger or Russell Wilson.

Or actually fight for a jump ball, use 2 hands or actually lay out for ONCE

Wilson lost every game this year where his defense allowed more than 24 points .... Ryan Tannehill puts up 36 vs Denver and losses and gets the blame .

Funny how Lynch has more yards rushing than Wilson passing in two of his "spectacular playoff wins " including last week where Wilson threw 4 ints and was still in the game because of his defense vs Rodgers lol. Any other qb in the league throws 4 ints and he's down 30 points . Lol oh lord

Most QBs would have been knocked out of the game by Clay Matthews' dirty illegal helmet-to-helmet hit (flagged for 15 yards, and fined $22,000).

Russell Wilson was hurt, and it affected his performance. But he was able to gut it out, rally back, and come up big, in a big-time game, and take his team to the Super Bowl.

This is the problem with today's fan mindset mostly due to i believe the influence of ESPN and general media with the obsession with the QB, every "team" in the NFL should just change their "team" name to whoever their QB is

"He" went all magic is the issue, i guess Russel Wilson ran that marshawn lynch td into the endzone, Russel Wilson also intercepted himself and then decided to slide and not advance the ball with 4 minutes left in the game, then Russel Wilson for some reason decided to not knock down the hail mary pass for the 2pt conversion not Clinton Dix, also Russel Wilson then kicked a perfect onside kick, Russel Wilson then let the ball bounce of his helmet and also recovered the onside kick, then Russel Wilson flipped the coin and won the toss in OT

Wait Russel Wilson doesnt play RB, CB, K, ST ?????? Never would have guessed from all the praise on how he single handily won the game
thats not what I'm saying. I'm saying he made great plays - like the throw on the 2 pt play - that you just don't see every day. To have played so bad and yet come up money when he needed to was impressive.

I see Russell Wilson making a lot of deep throws that his receivers bail him out on. Regularly. He isn't asked to put the ball into the basket. He frequently makes passes that are just in the neighborhood of a potential receiver, and the Seahawks' receivers make some terrific plays to get those receptions. I give a lot of credit to Wilson for making some kind of pass that gets down field, and I give a lot of credit to his receivers for anticipating his passes and attacking the ball.

Now for what I really think (and I know you said you're dropping this topic, but I'm hoping you'll at least read and come back for one more post): If Russell Wilson had to work with "body catchers" like Hartline and Wallace, I'm hard-pressed to think he would hit deep passes to either of them. Wilson might work well with Wallace because he's able to stretch plays with his legs, but on a deep pass from Wilson is Wallace going to adjust and go up and grab the ball? It's entirely hypothetical, but I've yet to see Wallace make a play like I routinely see happening in Seahawks' games.

Agree to disagree :hi5:

So let me get this Straight ... Youre giving him credit for throwing 4 tds blaming it on that fact that he took a hit in which he was running around pointlessly .

And when you say he rallied them back .... You mean when he failed to deliver it was fourth down and then they got a TD off a fake field goal ? That was him "rallying " them back from his horrible 4 int game ? Lmao

Last I checked, Russell Wilson is playing in the Super Bowl tomorrow. Again.

..he took a hit in which he was running around pointlessly.

Plenty of QBs - including Tannehill - make open field tackles. That is normal.

What is not normal is Clay Matthews' dirty illegal helmet-to-helmet hit (flagged for 15 yards, and fined $22,000).

If Clay Matthews kicked Russell Wilson in the nuts, you'd probably blame Russell Wilson for not protecting himself.

Damn. That's gonna be tough. I heard the Patriots are 46 players deep. Seattle's pretty stupid to just tote one player.

The 2pt throw that was a hail mary that should have been intercepted by clinton dix for the 3rd time? At minimum knocked down? That one?

It was still a great play to give his guy a chance in a situation where the play was otherwise dead, he had pressure in his face, had to throw the ball across the field, and had nothing to lose. That's great awareness. This should all be obvious.

I don't care as much about this as you. You're a VIP member, with thousands of posts, etc. I respect you and I respect your fanship, I simply don't get why no one respects mine, and further more outright dismisses me when I have an actual idea as to whats going on behind the scenes... P.S - There is nothing wrong with counseling or therapy. You seem to throw that out as a sort of insult.

There are only a handful of posters here that "get any respect"...it's like a private club most of the time...regardless of your insight or comments they mostly get ignored or derailed...thanks for your contribution although from me it doesn't carry the weight you may be looking for.

Our front office as well as many others overlook players we should have, could have and I believe wilson has the "it" factor that separates average players (jag) from the rest....I also agree he is in a great situation in Seattle surrounded by a stellar defense and running game. Wilson, though, imo would be successful in most offenses because of the intangibles both athletically and mentally (focus, toughness) he brings to the table.

I believe we chose the right guy at #8 but I would have doubled down knowing the intangibles Wilson has shown in college and for the fact we STILL don't have a solid offensive identity...or any stand out "play makers" on our offensive team....nobody that defenses have to "worry" about....Wilson is a guy that defenses have to game plan for and he does show a certain passion for winning at all costs imo.

How many guys throw that through the back of the endzone? You are absolutely right . . . guy made a play and yea maybe got lucky that Clinton Dix got stuck in the ground and didn't make a play on the ball, but just giving your guy a chance can end up in a huge play.

Tannehill Vs. Wilson 1-0 enough said. Wilson with his small frame behind the Miami OL taking the hits that Tannehill has taken for the last 3 years, would be in a wheel chair today instead of preparing for a SB.

Your speculation doesn't account for his ability to make plays when the o-line breaks down...and his ability to overcome bad situations and win....just sayin'
