ryan tannehill....dave hyde's a believer

Biggest thing to get excited about is that it's Dave Hyde giving out praise. Hyde's a straight shooter when it comes to giving out info and he doesn't sugar coat/ look only for negatives.

i saw that tanny had 19 balls batted down at a & m last year on like 550 attempts that's a really high # especially when you consider his height and all i would think some of that would be telegraphing his throws maybe by patting the ball and dlinemen jumping up if they can't get there some may be his eyes banging his targets anybody got any ideas on that...maybe something with his delivery...

big thing was with him already being committed to the throw LONG before he threw it. I've been a fan of Tannehill for awhile (even before we were considered the favorites to draft him), and watching film, a lot of that are correctable.

Patting the ball was an issue but he worked on that when he was working with Weinke and showed it during his workout...didn't do it once there. Also, he changed his delivery a bit to be a little more over hand...he had more of a side arm delivery at times. It's not as bad as Philip Rivers delivery but it was close.

What I loved the most about the article, is when he said we used to split 75 passes between each QB and now we are splitting 150. We doubled our tempo from last year! I hate you Meatball!
yeah maybe with the faster tempo at practice our D wont come out looking gassed from the beginning. This new offense I think may actually look good. I'm ready to see this offense in action.

Not that I think Sparano ran a good practice or anything and I even doubt the 75 reps with Sparano but I was reading Philbin's press conference from yesterday and he mentioned that he's never run practice this way. It was actually the way Mike Sherman ran practice at Texas A&M and I was surprised to read it cause I thought this was the way Philbin ran practice for the offense in Green Bay. And this also tells me no one else is running practices this way in the NFL.

The idea that this isn't more common in the NFL is surprising. I have to believe it's petty common on the NCAA level. When I was reading up on Dana Holgorsen, I quickly came across a text where Holgorsen was emphasizing the extra practice reps, and I believe this text came from back when he was working with Mike Leach. I'm just saying that if I can come across it while doing a quick rundown on a then OC, NFL teams have to know about it.

This is probably the most exciting Dolphins news since we drafted Tannehill.

I think Tannehill has a good chance to develop into a franchise qb, but let's not jump the gun on two practices and an observation from a member of the media. Let's see how this develops into the preseason.

Got a hunch we'll be hearing "Tannehill throws deep to Jeff Fuller...TOUCHDOWN MIAMI!!!"

I was saying this on twitter earlier this afternoon but don't be surprised if Tannehill opens with the 1st team on Wednesday.

1. Garrard and Moore each had two rotations with the 1's, so there's something right sounding about them each getting two for every one Tannehill gets, for the time being.

2. Peter King will be there, and there's nothing wrong with showing off your well performing #8 overall rookie in front of a national audience.

3. Ryan Tannehill will have an entire "day off" to prepare for it (using the term loosely, they'll expect him to use the time to study film and whatnot).

4. He's kind of earned it, with his fast start to training camp, arguably outperforming all three QBs on Sunday and then perhaps two out of three on Monday.

5. It will be the first day he can appear in full pads along with the rest of the players.

6. Mike Sherman did say he'll be getting some reps with the 1's when they get him up to speed, and noted it'll probably be sooner than later.

7. If they get Tannehill his rotation on Wednesday, it leaves Thursday and Friday to rotate to Moore & Garrard again, heading into the Saturday scrimmage.

So **** it, ride the wave.

Incidentally, I hope someone is listening to Rich Gannon's spot on Sirius NFL Radio because prior to the Draft he was not a big proponent of Ryan Tannehill's, didn't think the Dolphins should draft him at #8, didn't think he should go top 10, and thought the Dolphins would pass and he'd fall into the latter stages of the 1st round.

I'd like to know if he was impressed when he watched him with Dave Hyde on Monday. Dave's quotes made him sound impressed, but Hyde also noted that Gannon pointed out some flaws in the accuracy department.

However, I keep reading ... the moment Tanny receives PRESSURE .... FUBAR!!! We shall see how he learns & progresses!!

Between the ears ... can he learn to process the info quick & make the right decisions to pull the trigger on a good target?

That's the great problem with most young QBs (& many not so young) & most never overcome it to rise above average.

cough henne, cough sanchez, cough too many to name!!
