this is an excellent observation that i havent seen mentioned a lot. philbin has a lot to do with this as well because he believes in a concept based passing game, meaning the route combinations are mostly designed with dummy routes to draw coverage and get the primary open. if you notice RT rarely even reads the coverage pre-snap because he already knows where he's going with the ball when the play is called. then, when it's not there, he either forces it or holds the ball and takes a sack.
 
Tannehill reminds me a lot of Philbin. There's just something about the guy that lacks leadership. He doesn't own it, and it doesn't reside in him naturally. Even his press conferences seem to reek of uncertainty and insecurity. He may look unflappable. But obviously the wheels are spinning out of control in his mind. Already, 3 games in, I'm willing to play Moore to save the season, and not waste another year in "development." Tannehill was "supposed" to be the best "new" up can coming QB in the division. He's clearly dead last.

that's more offense oriented than qb oriented...there is a lot of predetermined throws in this offense...

most of them predetermined and there are no audibles. at least under sherman there was a little flexibility with checks. but i think they run it to this extreme because reading defenses and coverage post-snap is not a strength of ryan's.

that's right...hes not checking out of anything...new offense i doubt they give him the ability to do so...inside zone read option though you arent checking out of that anyways you either keep it or you give it to the back

the only time this offense moves the ball consistently is when they play with tempo...people can bash it all they want but the ball moves in the 2 minute o...i would go to it out of the bye not necessarily full no huddle but fast freaking tempo
 
The key to running HUNH or "NASCAR Pace" is getting 1st downs. If you can't get 1st downs, you can't run HUNH.

The tempo is predicated on efficiency on 1st down and 2nd down. The pace has to be -- 1st down, 1st down, 2nd down, 1st down, 1st down, 2nd down, etc...

You can't be in many 3rd down situations and run HUNH. Incomplete passes, inaccurate passes, drops, sacks, and negative plays cannot be part of an uptempo offense. You don't want to hurry up and go 3 and out, or be in a hurry to make mistakes.

Thank your wrs for not catching the ball and extending drives which would have all lead to points baring a TO (I can think of 3 crucial drops all placed perfectly hardline, gib, and Landry all going into KC territory) period end of story.... 14 drops in 3 games lol.

I forgot Thill needs to catch the balls too or else its always his fault.

I agree I don't see why everyone is so down on Tannehill? I see a young Tom Brady with legs.
 
drops or not 13 points is 13 points...it's not acceptable

doesnt help when the kicker misses a 47 yarder either...bit of a momentum swing there as immediately after the chiefs went right down the damn field for a td

i would have never let him try that 51 yarder...i dont trust that guy at all
 
Because 16 points is so much better! That miss was a given. Sad thing is even if Tannehill Curtis Painters the season for us the is no one worth taking!
 
Tannehill is inconsistent in every area. From ball placement to decision making. This is why he should be a back-up.

What you mean drops or not its still 13 pts that makes no sense without the drops we had 3 scoring opptys and momentum cause they were all nice drives to Cheifs territory that were halted from drops on crucial third down with balls that were right on there hands if we extend those drives I can guarantee we score one or two tds esp with how we could run on them.

Lazor and Thill can't catch the ball for us our wr have to make plays in which they haven't WE LEAD THE LEAGUE IN DROPS!!!!!!!!!!!! LET ME SAY IT AGAIN>>> WE LEAD THE LEAGUE IN DROPS!!!! (and we're running away with it as well thats how bad it is)

Please tell me how this is Thills fault anyone??? the balls were right on the money to Gib, Hartline and Landry

Fin heaven in a nutshell:

Tannehill gets sacked 58 times last year most on two step drops yet Thill sucks and has no awareness etc....Now we lead the league in drops by a mile which is crazy yet now Thill sucks again is inaccurate stares down wrs ext (when yes he missed some throws this year but most are right there esp yest)

If it his your hands esp on that level you have to catch it period end of story !!!
