Salguero: Aponte clashed with Ireland, shadowing Philbin around

.furthermore if all philbin is doing is being a puppet to the media by regurgitating what aponte is telling him vs having a damn back bone yeah i got a problem with it...

If that's really what's going on then yes, everyone should have a problem with it.

I love how I am so associated with Jeff Fisher. I should be more associated with Brian Billick and Mike McCoy. Oh well.

To keep defending Fisher, he was a coach for YEARS in the NFL...so IMO he was very qualified.

6 winning seasons going on 19
demanded priority decision-making privileges
kept Bradford
hired Greg Williams
hired Brian Schotty
fired by Bud Adams or else he'd still be mediocre-ing along in TN

need I go on?

but if you're saying "at least he's predictable" you've got no argument from me.

The local reporters need to be far more bold. Ask directly about Aponte: "Is she telling you what to say? Why do you need her to advise you what to say? Why has her role expanded? Whose decision was that? Your attitude in press conferences has changed, and not for the better. That reflects poorly on this franchise, which supposedly was determined to improve media and fan relations."

And then see how Philbin handles it. How he responds will say a great deal about his character and whether he belongs in this position. Maybe a national guy will press the issue, if the local guys are too petrified.

taking football advice from a woman who knows this game no better than shouright is yeah not want i want to hear my head coach is doing...furthermore if all philbin is doing is being a puppet to the media by regurgitating what aponte is telling him vs having a damn back bone yeah i got a problem with it...

queen this

No where in that article does it say Aponte is giving Philbin football advice. She is helping him with the media relations aspect. Which isn't a bad thing at all with how the media spins responses during interviews. I would want to be straight to the point as well, which is what Aponte seems to be helping with.

But I get it, since she's doing that she must also be telling Philbin how to do his job in the locker room. Makes total sense...

Nothing makes Finhaeaveners happier than talking about Jeff Fisher's resume. BTW, he also had multiple playoff trips, was a yard from winning a Super Bowl and stayed steady as the team moved from Houston to Nashville. Be that as it may...he was never going to be the HC in Miami.

I for one have never gotten the love affair with Dawn Apante on this board? All she has managed to do is be part of the front office of 2 of the worst teams in the NFL over the last decade. One of which got her **** canned for over stepping her bounds during a contract negotiation and embarrassing the team.

With all the years he's logged in, those same few hopeful moments that some folks say deceptively justify faith in our QB is what kept his civil service Titans job going as long as it did. Long way of saying "after all that time, shame on him if he didn't at least have a few anomalies." And I agree, he's a scumbag who colluded with his agent and agent's son to wrestle more money out of Stan Kroenke (sp), but if he never was gonna be here, then don't use him as an example of what "wouldn't have happened."

I dunno if you monitor the Rams boards, but the mounting sentiment about him is not too different than what's surrounding Joe, and up until a few weeks ago, was generally more negative.

Well assuming that Aponte has any influence over the product on the field is a bad assumption. She doesn't coach the players, scout them, put together game plans, and she's not in our draft room on draft day. I've never heard of a VP of Administration getting blamed because a team sucks. In fact, many people in her position keep their jobs even during house cleanings.

The reason people have given her credit is because of our cap situation, which she has a direct responsibility for.

LOL. Never did. It was brought up by ANOTHER poster to me in a hypothetical in a form of jab against me. Follow the timeline.

Anyways, keep defending a coach that has his team not respond to the areas he focuses upon, team starts flat and cannot not finish. He has done a bad job and is coaching for the season tonight.

With the exception of New Orleans, we have been in all of our games. We are very competitive. We aren't getting blown out and there is a fine line between our record and a winning record. We are all disappointed but blowing up this franchise after a slow start is just another knee-jerk reaction. So yes, I will continue to defend the HC for working with what he has, which isnt much.

Well it depends on how you look at it really. In the second half of games, when games are won, we have been blown out against both Baltimore and NE. Baltimore 20-10 in the second half and NE 24-0 in the second half.

Well if you want to just break it down to half games (who does that anyway?) we blew them out in the first half
