Salguero: The reason the Dolphins did nothing on Monday

That was the worst move Ross has made yet....if he wanted Harbaugh and didn't think Sparano was the coach of the future he should have fired Sparano at the end of the season...instead he extends his contract then decides to stop Harbaugh from signing with San Fran when everyone new that was the place Harbaugh wanted to coach all along....so what did he accomplish with that maneuver? It drove a wedge between the coach and GM, the players knew Tony's days were numbered, the top prospects in coaching avoided us like the plague or they used us for negotiating purposes all that for a trip to West Coast that was doomed from the beginning.....it didn't show balls it was amateur hour.......Ross may not be dumb but he is out of his league at the moment running a NFL franchise, hopefully he is smart enough to know this.....

Dude! Did you not read the post. I said it wasn't classy. Please read before you respond, please! That's the problem with this site.

I have doubts now, when has anyone on this board been consistent about anything? one week he sucks and should be fired, the next week he is a pro bowler and great pick by Ireland, this week we have the best 2nd yr QB, mid week, the QB blows and we need to draft another.....one yr fire Sparano anyone would be better than him, 2yrs later this coaching staff sucks...you get the point I can go on and on and to be honest it shouldn't occur to the owner that we might fall apart, he believed in his people and players that they would get the job done, he even spoke to them (probably for the first time) mid week with a pep talk....give the guy some slack, the bottom line is he doesn't make any rash decisions, he needs to talk to the people he trust and then make a decision....I give him to Monday of next week. If he going to make a move he needs to get the next step in place which would probably be a team president who will conduct the GM search, what I don't want is him making a knee jerk reaction and we end up with a GM and Coaching staff that is worse than what we got now....

You don't lose at home to the Jets.

I agree some said Tanny-Hill was a franchise QB , even after our defense bailed out Tanny-Hill against the Patriots, with great defense, and we got lucky that Steeler player stepped out of bounds.

This is coaching and front office problems.

Tanny-Hill is not the answer, failed big in two favorable games.

He's a sack and turnover machine.

Our defense didn't really give up that many points in all its games.

Defense bailed him out against NE? WTF? He had an amazing game winning drive in that game.

"Bailed out" would be if he threw an INT at the end of the game to almost lose it and the D had a huge stop. Tannehill was integral to the Pats win.

Dude, you need to go back and watch GB games from the early years with Brett Favre and see how many mistakes and picks he made. He's won a SB! I don't agree with you

I'll tell you guys, I think most of these posts are pretty funny. When someone here can prove they built a 4 Billion Dollar Empire I will take your opinion seriously on Ross. He is a smart man, maybe he still has some learning to do on the NFL front, but he's thinking about these decisions long and hard before he does something dumb and rash. At least he's an owner who does let his football people do their jobs and gives them the capital to do so, he will get this right. At least see what decisions he makes on this before we are calling him "clueless, moron, idiot etc"

Anyone here build a 4 Billion Dollar Empire?????? Speak up!

I'm pretty sure when they call him those names they're talking football wise. Everyone knows about his billions ut there but that had nothing to do with football.

Ozzy rules!!

Come on guys, really?

I know it's Mando but is it really a stretch to believe a team NOT READY to play for a playoff berth, is NOT READY for action if they don't make the playoffs?

Even if he's speculating, it's probably more right than wrong.

When it comes to Ross being clueless in football is nothing new. Hell I will hire a coach without a vacancy, drat it didn't work so I will extend my crappy coach. I will fire Sparano but keep the crappy Gm thatgave him those players. I will do everything to bring Manning in yet Manning never even comes to Miami a city he has a house in. I will wait around for weeks as my main choice tells me he is interested in St friggin Louis over me. the after every team passes on philben I will sign him. I will wait until a few months before I want a vote on a new stadium to draft a measure that needs the state to actually change their own law to pass.

He needs to sell the team already. I feel like his image has only gone south since he started. He's 0-2 for people running the ship correctly (Parcells and Ireland), and his HC's have proven to be frustratingly mediocre despite their efforts, or non-efforts.

He needs to get the biggest, safest GM name he can, or sell the team for the good of Miami fans.

Our playoff possibility rested in the hands of others.

IF we win, the ravens win, and the Chargers lose, we are still OUT. Would it be time to fire everyone then?

WE LOST. We showed what we were. We reverted to form. We are NOT an elite playoff team with elite talent. We are sitting home... EXACTLY where we deserve to be. It didn't matter what other teams did because we played to our level.

NOTHING changed about this team on Sunday except for how it is perceived by fans and the league. We were just as mediocre as we would have been if that scenario would have happened, with the same flawed personnel philosophies that ireland has carried forward for 5 years.

Until WINNING becomes more important than $$$, until the defensive sneak-and-squeak smallball philosophy goes out the door, until PLAYMAKERS on offense come back to Miami to help our Franchise QB who is on a terrific career trajectory, we are going to keep languishing in 8-8 land give-or-take.

Why are people taking speculation from Armando Salguero at face value?

You guys do realize that Armando is basically trying to save Jeff Ireland's job every time he pens something, right?

I agree that Armando does everything possible to spin things in Ireland's defense. That said, this would explain why Ross has been sitting on his hands for the past 2 days. Plus the alternative is worse: that Ross decided to keep everyone when we hit 7 or 8 wins.

At least this way hope remains. You know, for a few more days, until it becomes clear nothing is going to change.

Then please at draft time tell us how it should be done. but you wont, you are a reactionist.

 I make no promises, but i'll try and remember this post next season when i see you desperately scrambling around the board screaming "Fans fault we are losing, our line would block properly if only fans went to games!" again. :sidelol:

As for your claim itself: your damned straight im reacting to our 5th non-winning season, im sick of losing, i want to win all the time. I would apologize for not adopting your attitude of acceptance towards losing...but, well, im simply not sorry for that.

Any word on the NFL's investigation?

Ross could be waiting till he has everything in front of him about what's going to happen to our organization per Goodell, before making a drastic decision himself.

I could be wrong, but perhaps the NFL is waiting until after the Superbowl. No need to stir sh*t up during playoff time and squash all the excitement.
