San Diego ranks 32nd in passing defense

gOD you people know nothing of football.

WE were driving down field at will all game. The wildcat was 6 plays out of 50+ we ran. How is that opening up anything? We were in scoreing position and would have gotten in with or without the wildcat on everytime. The only one that did anything SOLO was the long run by ronnie. 4 of the wildcats were run in the redzone.. on first down... only the scamper by ricky and the long run by ronnie were outside the 20.

Wildcat did not have that much of an impact on the game besides flash. We were already going into the endzone with almost no problem. Pennington was just desecting the field. Our running game also didnt get opened up tillafter pennington was going.

Pennington wasnt dinking and dunking.

It is your biasd opinion and only reinforces the fact I and others who know football are right.

Watch the game. Learn the game. Don't speak. enjoy.
There is no need to be so condescending in your reply. He already posted that it was his bias against Pennington that fueled his response so there was no need for you to even comment on it.

It will be interesting to say the least. I hate to say it, but I think Cromartie will snag one of Pennington's passes. I'm anxious to see how our O-line performs though, because they are starting to gel.

Look for the Dolphins to use misdirection and game planning to make quick strikes if you guys blitz too much. It will be interesting to see how you handle the wildcat; the Chargers have had a week to look at the film.

But we've had two weeks to watch you guys!

Hey, I live in San Diego -- where you at? I live up by UTC but bout to move to Cardiff.

I'm actually from Del Mar but have lived in the LA-area since '96. Still have my season tickets and hit a few away games every season. Oakland is the only gam e I didn't attend so far this season. Buffalo will be next TV event. My work gives me a lot of travel flexibility.

I really hope we dont use the wildcat formation this game unless its in goaline situations. You know SD is definately preparing for that formation. Hopefully we can see a big game out of Ginn because of the supposible "weak" pass defense. But truely, we need Ronnie and Ricky to get the neccessary touches in the beginning of the game to keep the possession/tempo.

I hope we do use it, pretty tough to defend Ricky running all the way across the field when the snap comes, if they dont pursue him, then the ball goes to him. If they do pursue him, Ronnie keeps it.

I would use it here and there until someone stops it, i don't think it will be easy to stop. But any play can be stopped, it all depends on how its played.

How about Ronnie gives Ricky the ball, SD persues him, then Ricky throws a lateral back to Ronnie and takes it up the opposite sideline to the house. That would look nice.

Why not have Ginn in motion on a play or two? Ginn running full speed to the strong side. If he makes one guy miss it's over.

If Miami were to take advantage of San Diego's pass defense, it will be through TightEnd production. Fasano and MArtin will have the opportunity to beb very productive on Sunday. Not so sure about the Miami WR's though, but I AM NOW confident in the coaching staff developing a gameplan to be efficient like the offense was against New Englands pretty darn good defense.

Balance guys our O needs to be balanced to put up atleast 24 to give us a shot at winning this game.

if we had a qb with a decent arm we expose that weak secondary of theres

How about we line up in the "wildcat" instead of running it we throw a backwards pass to Pennington at WR. He then takes the ball and chucks it to Ginn on the opposite side running a fly, and dont even say Penny cant get it there, Penny had several long passes completed in the New England game that everyone said he couldnt do.

Wow, didn't know that. Hopefully we can take advantage. I dont know if they get burned alot down the slide lines...but I'm hoping Chad can expose the middle as he did in the NE game hitting it right up the heart of the field for big gains.

I don't think it would work from the Wildcat formation as we ran it against New England. For it to have a remote chance of working, Ginn would have to run a post or deep crossing pattern. Only a handful of QB could even attempt such a pass as you describe it.

Sounds like a VERY high risk play.. very bad things can happen throwing across the field

That's why I said for Ginn to run a post or deep crossing pattern. I guess I should have added towards the same side as Pennington.

My bad... that could work. So he would be lined up on the opposite side of Chad running the cross towards chad's side of the field.

I like the direct snap to Ronnie, reverse hand off to Ricky drawing the D to Ricky's side, then Ricky laterals back to ronnie running up the gut to the opoosite side of the D idea too. I could see some crazy **** with this wildcat
