In a letter to 49ers owner Jed York, the Association listed several objections it has to Kaepernick, including:
1. “Your employee then insinuated that police officers are being placed on paid leave for murdering minorities. This statement is obviously insulting, inaccurate and completely unsupported by any facts.”
2. “Mr. Kaepernick then made inaccurate and untrue statements about the level of training that is required to be a police officer.”
3. “The 49er organization has been allowing Mr. Kaepernick to wear exposed socks with the image of a pig wearing a police hat during practices at the training camp in Santa Clara.”
4. “Your organization has made no statement disagreeing with Mr. Kaepernick’s accusations.”
The letter concludes by saying officers may choose not to work 49ers games because of Kaepernick’s statements, adding that police officers “have the right to do their job in an environment free of unjustified and insulting attacks from employees of your organization.”
In the past, the Santa Clara police have been accused of having too cozy a relationship with the 49ers. That relationship is now strained, to say the least.

Good for them. F the 49ers and Kaepernick. I think police officers in every NFL stadium should refuse to escort Kaep to and from the field.

Lol I'm surprised it took that long. I was waiting for that. That gang has a track record of pulling this crap. What sensitive, pissy little bastards. Let me get this right. One person did something they don't like so they're willing to put everyone at the stadium at risk because of it? Unreal.

Yeah, good for them. **** the Constitution they are sworn to protect and enforce. Best to put lives in danger because they handle criticism like a 5 year old.

49ers should hire an outside agency for security detail and the Santa Clara police dept. should do what the taxpayers pay them to do, direct traffic.

If they're being paid they need to show up and do thier jobs. It would be like police saying they might refurse to respond to a call in a neighborhood because a few people who lived there said something bad about the police.

This letter is from the "Santa Clara Police Association" not the Santa Clara Police Department. That sounds like it's from the police union or some other organization and not from the actual police department since no mention is made about any police chief/government official. AFAIK, LEOs like most other working stiffs, get assigned jobs and are expected to do them.

Really it seems a lot of police organizations would do that. If the SF are playing elsewhere, not just in their neck of the woods.

Some pretty ****ing terrible cops then. Would just add weight to Kaep's argument.

What's interesting is that I don't remember reading such threats when it comes to providing protection for others exercising their 1st Amendment rights, like, say, KKK rallies. :idk:

Where in the constitution does it say that the police need to baby sit millionaire athletes? Especially ungrateful punks. He has enough money to hire his own.

The NFL can hire their own security. Kaep can personally screen them so no "racist pigs" are hired.

You have to do the job you are paid to do. Period

When I worked in retail I can't choose not to provide service to someone because I don't like what they said about me. Grow up and do your job

Did the KKK called police departments racist? Must have missed that.

If Kaep had made disparaging statements about leaders of the Muslim faith not taking a hard enough stance on radical Islam (and holding some responsibility for terrorism), the NFL would have jumped through its own asshole to punish him and back away from the statements.

If I came into your store and started claiming that you and all the other employees were ripping off every customer that came into the store and keeping the profits for yourselves, are you suggesting I wouldn't be escorted from the store?

I wouldn't expect them to get paid if they didn't show up.

There are also laws protecting people from working in a hostile work environment. You show up in a stadium of 70,0000 when one of the stars of the league has claimed that 70 or so people working at the stadium (easily identified by their uniforms) are murdering people and getting paid leave for it.

When you sign up to be a police officer aren't you signing up to work in a hostile environment? Nobody made you become a cop. That's a choice they made. And Kap has a point, cops target minorities. The evidence of that is everywhere
