### Contrary to a published report, the Dolphins' Koa Misi said he never complained about being asked to move to middle linebacker and is excited about it. “I’ve always told the coaches I’m open to trying new things and new positions,” he said.
Misi said he’s studying two to four hours every night and arrives at team headquarters around 5 a.m., before many other players.
What’s more, “I had my wife buy me some cones so I can line up the cones in my house and adjust to different formations. At first, I had a bunch of hats laid out on the ground. It’s a lot to learn. I have a lot more calls to make, a lot more reads. I’m already feeling a lot more comfortable.”
### Though rookie third-round pick Billy Turner shared first-team left guard snaps with Dallas Thomas on the first day of offseason practices, Thomas said he has received most of the reps since, and coaches are encouraged by how he has looked playing alongside Branden Albert.
He played just three offensive snaps last season --- despite the Dolphins’ offensive line deficiencies --- and says he struggled mentally learning multiple positions and also physically with his surgically-repaired shoulder, which “held me back. Last year, I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ I got rusty not playing, and you develop some bad habits. I played my senior year at guard [at Tennessee]. I’m very comfortable there. Starting is my goal.”

Well one of them is going to be a good backup.i hope........

Koa as a 2 down thumper might work but honestly watching 55 cover a starting rb or te one on one is not good

Maybe they take Koa out on obvious passing downs. He might be a liability.

As far as the guards i was hoping Turner caught on fast and started but if Thomas beats him out he must have earned it..

Our linebackers are a mess and now they want to move the one guy that is a decent player. Just what we need a two down linebacker

the ONLY two guys who are starting right now are brandon albert and mike pouncy.

this isnt even really a camp. its a lookie and see thing. and some times the guy who gets the more reps in theses types of things isnt because he is better, its because they want them to get more reps to see if they CAN get better!!

long, long way to go. and billy turner has a reputation of not being the first guy to get it. to pick it all up. but when he does [and it doesnt take long] he doesnt lose his job. look whats happening with the lb's! they are throwing guys all over the place, misi in the middle, elerbe at olb, etc.... . and everyone thinks this is how it is now. ITS NOT! there just experimenting, taking a look. that is what these early look and see camps are for. PLUS......, you create competition by making the other player think he is winning the job. MOTIVATION!!

and dont be surprised if these are our starting guards come opening day.

Definitely not ideal. Let's see what happens at camp where maybe they find the right combination.
Tripp or Jenkins could step up as well so let's see how this plays out.

They are both fairly high draft picks so that would be great if they both earn it.

I like what I am hearing out of Misi....seems like he goingto put in the work to make the most of this...always good to have team first guys.

Sounds like he wants so I would not bet against him succeeding in the middle.

first of all a RB on a LB is something every LB has problems with, but Misi is underrated in coverage, he did a good job last year, when he had to, i forgot which game but i saw him cover a player way downfield

I like the Misi move, it matches his physical skill set and we'll see if he rises to the challenge mentally. A bigger, more physical presence in the middle and he was a solid but less than dynamic OLB. Would have been better if Dion Jordan was moved to his OLB spot, but I like the comments I've read from the coaching staff about expanding his 3rd down role and taking advantage of what makes him special, a rare ability to both pass rush and cover at what I think will prove to be very high levels.

Dallas Thomas- I still don't get him, at all. I see a pedestrian pass blocker and an average at best run blocker. If he and Tiny Richardson came out in the same draft I'd draft Richardson, microfracture and all, over Thomas and not think twice about it. If Billy Turner can't beat out Dallas Thomas, that will be just sad, regardless of how raw Billy Turner is. At least Tiny Richardson is huge and dominates at times, granted there are holes in his game that others pointed out, besides the microfracture. I've looked at a pretty good amount of Dallas Thomas tape and I see NOTHING that says anything other than backup at best, swing OG/OT player at the bottom of the roster. I've tried to like him as a player, and every time I look at the tape again disappointment sets in. He has decently quick feet, that's about it. Judge for yourself:

I still think that Trai Turner would have been a great fit, would have loved to see him in a Fins uniform.

You must be a hell of a scout to know he is a back up after 3 snaps total and 2 OTAs this year. He was a 3rd round pick for a reason, how about we just chill with some of these rookies and 2nd year players that were injured until the end of training camp at least.

Oh look a video from three years ago....yeah no player ever gets better....they pretty much stay the same from the time they are 19 until they retire....

3 years before we drafted RT with the 9th overall pick as a quarterback he was still a WR, people who say they can evaluate a player off of less than 10 total plays are full of it. It's just to small of a sample size, especially for someone who was injured.
