Say no to Brian Gaine

Aponte is still here too lol if only we could do a total cleanse. Plus Philbin and the entire coaching staff but Dan Campbell and Kacy Rodgers.

Yep, I was hoping for a clean slate finally. I wanted Ireland, Philbin and Aponte all gone.

Parts of me won't be happy until Philbin and Aponte are replaced.

He never put on an NFL uniform, therefore he was never a player. Practice squad = intern job.

This is easily in my top five of uneducated posts. The fact that you get belligerent about this point later on in this thread doesn't make it any less so.

You can't blame Jeff Ireland on Brian Gaine. I think it speaks volumes that he got two GM interviews the past two off-seasons working for Ireland. Especially with how low Ireland is thought of by the NFL.

That doesn't answer my question, what does Gaine do well?

Stupidest thing I have ever heard in my life. lol

Some amazing comments on this thread.

I think Gaine is a good candidate for the job. I think Farmer is a good candidate for the job.

Regarding Gaine, when you are in a position to manage an organization, you make the decisions and set the direction and the culture of your team. When you are the #2 (Asst. GM) in that organization, you support the direction and culture that your boss the GM sets. The fact that he worked for Ireland means nothing to me. I am sure he has his own ideas and plans should he get the job.

I wouldn't be disappointed with either candidate.

I'm hung up on Roberto Wallace because it tells me several things about Gaine.

1. He doesn't know how to identify instincts.
2. He doesn't know how to identify toughness.

Look at the roster. It's full of players lacking in instincts and toughness.

Evaluates talent. Just because Ireland sucked doesn't mean Gaine isn't a good talent evaluator.

WHAT DOES GAINE HAVE TO DO WITH ROBERTO WALLACE? Aside from talking to him one time on Hard Knocks? Brian Gaine had no say so over the roster. That is all Ireland. You can't blame him for any player on this team because he didn't pick any of them.

And that's why Ireland is gone. Are you suggesting that Ireland was just Gaine's mouthpiece for all of the roster decisions?

Prove it. What good talent has he evaluated other than Wake?

Prove that he ISN'T. You're the one making the assumption.

You must have missed the episode where he attempts to sell Ireland on Wallace in Jeffy's office.

I'm still waiting to be sold on what Gaine does well in talent evaluations. So far it's been crickets.

You act like he was saying sign him to a 7 year deal. Yeah, he looked a lot more promising than Chris Hogan, or BJ Cunningham type players.

Everyone evaluates talent, doesn't mean they all do it well.
You said it's "clear that Brian Gaine is BY FAR the best hire"
Seems like you would have more than he "evaluates talent" Heck, you do that...

If Gaine sucked so bad why would he get interviewed by the Dolphins in 2014, the Jets in 2013, and the Rams in 2012?

Out of Ray Farmer, Gaine, and Hickey, yes he is. By far.
