So you rather give up a 1st and a 3rd round pick (what he was tendered) for de-lo? Come on man!

If the FO decide to keep Brown or Williams, then I agree that we should target a back with more speed/elusiveness.

But if things stay the way they are with both currently heading for FA, then I could live with Ingram.

dude ingram is a good running back. watch his film and u will see how quick and hard he hits the hole. the guy has good vision and knows how to run the ball and will be good in this league for a long time. I like D williams but the dude cant stay healthy for a full year. I would rather have a younger RB that it a tad slower but can pound the ball then a guy who we r going to have to pay alot more money too and is only going to play 10-12 games a year. There wont be a ton of talent in the first round as far as offense and this is the only pick i really want us to take if we stay at 15

Another uninformed pedestrian looking at a 40 time. He may not outrun you in the 40 yard straight dash . . . but from day one he is going to seperate himself from most of the backs in the NFL by how he "finds" the hole and how hard he hits "that" hole. When you watch how guys will try to tackle him and his legs keep moving and he is going to make you smile. And 40 time or not, good luck catching and tackling him if he breaks away. He can also catch the ball and hold up in pass protection.

Deangelo Williams? A first and a 3rd for a guy who can't stay healthy . . . yea that would be worth it.

Of course it would help Mark if he has a great OLine in front of him, the same can be said for every back in the league, but even if he doesn't have one . . . Ingram is going to do a better job than any of these other backs with the hand he is given.

I'm not saying the kid is a no brainer pick . . .it all depends on how the board falls, but for him to not even be in consideration is just plain dumb. We need a RB, whether early or late, and Ingram is the top prospect. You would be nuts to take him off your board.

Well,those were taken down quick.

Well he's in Gadsden today having a little autograph signing session, and he'll be at the Galleria in Birmingham tomorrow signing autographs and taking pictures with the Heisman Trophy... You should probably swing by and say 'no' to him...

What was Larry Csonka's 40 time? Pretty slow, I'd bet.

How did he work out for us?

It's kind of funny but Terrell Davis ran 4.72 (if your old enough to remember him) and Frank Gore ran 4.65 and both of them turned out pretty good.

+1 to that, but I just don't see Ingram being worth the 15. maybe if we trade into the mid 20's and he's still there I would snag him in a heartbeat. Also you have to take into account neither of the above backs mentioned were first round picks..

first of all stop looking at the damn 40 time and watch film, if that was the case tedd ginn would be an all star. second williams was tendered and he isnt worth a 1st and a 3rd.

Found a few other guys you may have heard of.

Arian Foster (who led the league in rushing this year) - ran 4.73 and 4.69 at his pro day. http://blogs.knoxnews.com/edwards/2009/03/arain_foster_has_rough_pro_day.html
Steven Jackson - ran 4.55 at the combine. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2004/draft/players/30735.html
Ahmad Bradshaw - ran 4.55 at the combine. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=33797&draftyear=2007&genpos=RB
Peyton Hillis - ran 4.64 at the combine. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=32821&draftyear=2008&genpos=fb
LeGarrette Blount - ran 4.70 at the combine. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=81967&draftyear=2010&genpos=RB

All of the above players ran for over 1000 yards (unlike Ronnie who's official time was 4.43 at the combine but he had an unofficial time of 4.32 on one of his runs) and all of them averaged more yards per carry than Ronnie. Speed is great once you get past the second level but if you never get there then what good is it?
