Say what you want....but Luck?

Honestly, Luck is up there as one of the most complete prospects I've seen since I started following the draft. Of course, I jumped on the bandwagon during his freshmen year when all he had to do was hand off to Toby Gerhart.

He's not quite at Peyton's level as a prospect, but he's got size, reads the game well, is allowed to audible, is mobile, studies, and is a good character guy.

Tebow isn't a good comparison, especially considering Luck played in a pro style offense that his built around timing and precision passing.

Now I get it, "your" opinion so that's what makes your point better than mine. Sorry, now you opened my eyes.

Who is on the fence?....We need a coaching staff more than we need Luck. Never said I was against getting him/that he won't be good/isn't the best QB in this years draft. I said that I don't see him changing this team as it is now or be to a team what Peyton Manning is to the Colts. I am firmly planted on what side of the fence I'm on.
clear enough for ya???
Oh it's clear all right my friend.
So when you say he is not manning are you saying that he does not have his intelligence? Cause he does..Are you saying that he does not win? Cause Manning didnt win at Tenn.. I just dont get what your saying by he is not Manning?

He has the leadership qualities..He leads by example..Manning has thrown his teammates under the bus before..Has Luck?

Look at any great coach he had a good to great qb to hitch his wagon to...

Just look at the Phins with and without Pennington...

A good qb can make a **** coach all the better..

Honest question. Did you really think that Cam would be as good passing the ball as he has been? I know that didn't...

this good as in 400 yards almost 3 damn times in 4 games??? hell no...but if you watched him at auburn the deep vertical throws his accuracy was rediculous...and its what i've seen so far in carolina...some of those throws down the field are rediculous...i was a little concerned about him b/t the ears and him getting an nfl offense and executing it...but i knew he was gonna go very high given his physical skill set and polished throwing motion

my quote was prior to the draft "i don't know if cam newton will pan out or not but if i had the #1 overall pick i sure would like to find out"

ck and i were in unison on that

cam newtons a gamer...

Right now he is surprising me, but they went out and got him weapons. Steve Smith is still a top notch WR, Brandon LaFell has started to develop into a solid nubmer 2. Legadu Naanee doesn't have a lot of catches, but he's a reliable 3rd WR. They also got a great young TE in Greg Olson, and a still very solid Jeremy Shcokey. Plus they have Williams,Stewart, and Goodson in the backfield. Coach Chud is also allowed to open the playbook.

We need a entire make over, coaches, uni's, players and mgnt!

Qb play is about consistency..Newton is killing it right now..Vince Young at one time was too...Look at him now..Mike Vick is 1 and 3...You have to be good week in and out..

I know teams are gonna figure Cam out in the coming months..I wanna see how he adjusts.

What you need is a coach that supports his QB. Old school style. I hate Rex and Sanchez but the best thing Rex has done for dirty is stand behind his QB 100%. Sparano has Henne's head so ****ed up with positive and negative plays that the kid can not just go out and play. Unfortunately for Henne it's too late, project Miami over.

New Coach
New Qb

Need to both be on the same page no matter what. If the kid struggles then the coach finds a way to win, i.e. Jets, Baltimore, etc...

the good thing with the NFL is that it is easy to make a quick turnaround if you get the right people in charge. Detroit put the right people in charge, and while it's taken till year 3, you could see that Schwartz was the right man for the job. As much flak as Sparano gets, there is some talent on this team that he and Ireland have given us. There are holes, but we do have building blocks. Sometimes it's just a matter of players being put in poor positions to succeed (not our biggest problem, but I am not impressed with a lot of the coaching decisions this year on both offense and defense)

Whoa...I just want to make sure I'm on the same page here:

Some of you people are using Tebow as an example for why Luck might bust? Honestly, that might be the most uninformed angle I have ever seen. I'm literally trying to think of something dumber that I may have read anywhere on the internet and I'm coming up with nothing.

Tebow was never...EVER...considered a pro-style QB. He ran a spread offense with one read. He has horrible mechanics. He's not accurate. Denver reached for him and it was a bad pick and everyone knew it before he hit the field

Luck runs a pro-style offense and has great mechanics, footwork, release, arm, all of it. He goes through his reads like a BOSS (something Henne still can't do) and looks off DBs. He has perfect size. He is the best QB prospect since Manning. I can't believe some of you people.

i'm not so sure about that...he beats you with his arm or his legs...he's just making plays on a team that can't even run the ball to take some heat off of him and a defense that blows

imo he's only gonna get better...but we'll see

Even Superman has a weakness.

you add a andrew luck bring in a coach the players respect get rid of this dead weight on the oline and change up some things schematically on defense and i think this team gets a whole lot better in a hurry...in a real hurry

this is not a complete makeover outside of the front office...

Andrew Luck and Andy Reid.

Andy Reid brings in a defensive Coor. who runs a wide 9 - 43, Cameron Wake he is your pass rush, Install the WCO we go from there.

There is nothing that I "don't like". I have stated that I can see that he is a very good QB and he could really turn into something. To me he just doesn't stand out as some franchise savior like so many seem to be touting him as. He's very good, no doubt.
But, is he really any different than Tim Tebow was?

Are we seriously still engaging in conversation with this clown after this statement? Tebow? Really? You've just reached a level of ignorance in one thread that some FH posters work a lifetime to cultivate. Congratulations on your newfound insignificance. You're the Babe Ruth of not knowing what you're talking about.
