Say what you want....but Luck?

I'm an NFL scout.. You come out and pretty much garauntee the kid wont pan out. Youre making more of a statement than any of us LuckLovers are. Besides, ALL signs point to him be successful. Watch a game or two and pay more attention.
What are yours? For that matter what are anyone's scouting credentials on here?

From what you're saying does that mean that everyone here that is wanting to get Luck no matter what are the ones with more scout creds? Why?

We all see the same thing and we see things differently. If you are an NFL scout then I humbly relinquish my statements to your expert opinion and I would happily follow your lead and accept any input you have on what I am missing.

we will end up with the 1st pick. ross will refuse to pay the big name coaches that are available, and decide instead to give ireland and sporano another 1 year extension. with the first pick, the fins take the best RG in the draft to help Columbo.

Luck's red zone numbers this season:

61% completion percentage, 8 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

Luck has brought a team with little to no other talent to a top 5 ranking. Luck calls his own plays and runs a no huddle offense. Henne can't even do that as a pro. I guess ever single NFL scout is wrong and OP is right. Riiight. .

this is an unfair statement. henne can run a hurry up, in fact he probably would score more doing it but one, henning never let him open up and two, he is allowed now but his teamates (lex hilliard is the latest dud) forget plays and drop passes. Henne's problem is he should be shouting at his teamates to know their job ala marino. but he doesnt.

back to luck.

I have only watched a couple of videos. One, if every scout in the land already has him as top prospect, then guess what, its pretty clear the kid is talented. Look at him aside from video. son of a coach. stanford U is no easy school. has excellent size. I mean, before I knew anything, someone said he is 245lbs. If that is true, this kid is the top prospect. He has all the tools and brains. whatever he doesnt know, he will learn. peyton manning did not know nearly in college what he knew once he experienced it himself years later once he beat tampa bay on monday night coming back from afar.

Right now he is surprising me, but they went out and got him weapons. Steve Smith is still a top notch WR, Brandon LaFell has started to develop into a solid nubmer 2. Legadu Naanee doesn't have a lot of catches, but he's a reliable 3rd WR. They also got a great young TE in Greg Olson, and a still very solid Jeremy Shcokey. Plus they have Williams,Stewart, and Goodson in the backfield. Coach Chud is also allowed to open the playbook.

He no doubt has good weapons around him but IMO, he is also the type to raise his level of play during crunch time. Some players are able to do that and others aren't. It remains to be seen if Cam can keeping doing or get better at it. I do know one thing. I just haven't seen Chad take this team on his back, so to speak, and will them to win.....

Remember one player will not make the entire team, it may help with Luck, but will he......
Pass and run block.
defend the pass, stopping the big play.
or will he make the FG, that cost us the game.
Call the right plays, theres alot of things to consider,

We need a team!!!

i'm not so sure about that...he beats you with his arm or his legs...he's just making plays on a team that can't even run the ball to take some heat off of him and a defense that blows

imo he's only gonna get better...but we'll see

Just making plays. Yep, you've got that right!

One of these pieces is a lot harder to find than the others. Can you guess which piece that is?

(It's the kicker! That's why Tony gets so excited whenever Carpenter makes a 28 yard field goal after the team called a draw on 3rd and 12!)

Colts with Peyton Manning = Super Bowl contender for a decade
Colts without Peyton Manning = one of the worst teams in the NFL

The guys who are losing every week in Indianapolis are the same guys who only didn't go undefeated two years ago because they chose not to. The only difference is the quarterback.

Underestimating the importance of a franchise qb and what he can do to help an entire team is exactly the mindset the FO had that got us into this mess

While I agree with your overall point, I do think Indy a better team than us even without Peyton. They have not rolled over and quit yet, and I think they will win some games, starting tonight. Their defense is legitimately pretty solid and they can pressure the QB.

I remember another can't miss college great that was a #1 overall....They just drooled over him until...Until...He got on the SD practice field.

The late & great...Ryan Leaf

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Ryan Leaf was never a "can't miss" prospect. He was a complete head case.

Right now the only thing that is going to change the culture of this franchise is leadership. We should be far more enthusiastic about a new head coach, than a rookie QB. Better leadership would get WAY better results from the current talent than what is being accomplished right now!!!

Suck for Cowher/Fisher/Gruden is far more appropriate!

Suck for Gruden and Fisher? You've formed your opinion on Luck from watching youtube videos? I was going to say that you've watched the wrong videos but you followed that up with "suck for Gruden/Fisher" Insane! Gruden hasn't done jack other than with a team that Dungy built and Fisher's record wasn't all that great. Both are vastly over-rated. Luck on the other hand isn't!!! Guy is legit!
