Schefter: Dolphins harassment stretches all the way up to management

Martin decided his path was the only way to go...fine. However, think of the LB's coach that has nothing to do with this...he is done. His family does not know what to think next...just because Martin had to take the tactics he did.

These texts and vmail are from APRIL. Why now? Nobody is asking "why now?"

Maybe he wanted to be a good teammate and 'got along to get along'? I'm all for a good novel, but the Cog backers are getting a little ridiculous in trying to defend him. He says he went to Philbin, Philbin has implied he didn't know. Your choosing who to trust and believe and who not to. "Why now?"......maybe for months and months he was waiting for something to change, for Philbin or Ireland to do something....maybe he was hoping someone else would get tired of the BS. Seriously? Incognito takes a QB credit card and goes to by a jet ski with it? Who does this? And if anyone else hasn't noticed the complete nutjob blowup on everyone that his dad posted...perhaps there were/are other players in the locker room wondering...."what is he capable of if I bother to make this an issue?" Hayden, have you ever worked with someone you knew was armed, knew had severe anger issues, and basically wanted to mentally and physically dominate everyone around them?

And as to the LB coach who had nothing to do with this? Maybe you should blame Ireland or Philbin or Ross. The buck stops here dude. The players who fight the hardest for their owners and coaches are the ones who 'love' their coaches and owners. You only get that kind of commitment from mutual respect. I don't see players giving respect to people that do what this front office/coaching staff has done.

There's a reason why our players go elsewhere and play better. Why good/great players come here and flop. Its culture, commitment to winning. Its about actually giving a rats azz about the team, the game, the win. Not whose paying for the next dinner, whose getting their headshaved, whose credit card or car or whatever you can steal.

Is Jonathan Martin solely innocent? No. Did he handle it properly? No. Is this team being run from the top down like a pathetic 3rd rate college football team? YES, abso-freakin' lutely!

I dont care if Martin comes back or not. I definitely don't want Incognito back. But I don't want Philbin/Ireland or anything remotely attached to the Parcell stench kept after this season is over. Bring in a coach, who is going to treat his players like men. And make them behave like men. And if they don't, find some men.

This is all funny. I hardly every let momma stick up for me anymore and I'm 40!

it was an exaggeration, but he is wrong plentiful. dudd has a serious agenda against incognito and now its stretching to miami as a whole. I already proved he was wrong before about incognito. my point is dont believe everything in the news. espn jumps to conclusions before knowing everything

So he got that one wrong. It happens. And it wasn't like it was completely wrong, that Incognito wasn't there and wasn't involved. He was wrong about who did what.

Ben Bradlee had the right view about this. "We don't print the truth. We print what we know, what people tell us. So we print lies."

Anyway, I think it's highly ironic that you're going to knock Schefter for being wrong and then completely make up a number to present how often he's wrong. I mean, c'mon. Now, I do think it's perfectly reasonable to have a healthy skepticism about what you read and what you hear. But unless you're going to wander around not quite being sure whether the Earth is round because you've never been in space yourself to verify it, it pays to develop a useful bull**** sensor rather than just disbelieving everything.

That way lies ignorance, unfortunately. Not wisdom.

he claims management knew when philbin explicitly says he was never told before sunday. multiple sources have come forward with first hand knowledge of Martin not coming forward to coaches or management in his past. he doesn't tell anybody anything basically. that supports philbin never knowing, Martin has lost a ton of credibility at this point. and I'm upset with the agenda adam seems to have towards incognito and now all of bspn are coming down blaming everyone in the dolphins organization for what doesnt seem to.be true. I exaggerated to make a point, sorry you took it so literally

He did not say that philbin knew. He said that martin took two days off and there wasn't an explanation. That whole segment was bull****. He vaguely accused the organization of more harassment and didn't provide anything beyond that. Pretty big claim to only talk on it for 10 seconds...

The throw as much dung on the wall as possible, and hope some of it sticks trick.....Shefter is an awesome reporter.

Here's what matters, the NFL will have their results soon. Miami invited the NFL in immediately.

Just to make certain that everyone is clear about the motivations, the NFL's interest in this investigation is to (1) protect the NFL, and (2) protect NFL franchises. If Ross would have wanted a real investigation and not a coverup, he would have invited the Dade County District Attorney or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to perform the investigation. The fact that he didn't speaks volumes as to his motivations. This is why there will ultimately be a lawsuit brought by Martin against the Dolphins and the NFL.

I'd personally find it hilarious if Ireland releases voicemails from Dawn Aponte threatening to **** in his mouth if he spends another high pick on an olineman BUST

I know funny and that's funny.

And why do you believe him so readily?

And why do you believe him so readily?

a couple of reasons, as I noted Martin is not someone to come forward to anyone in a leadership role which has been proven with quotes from his ex coaches. Philbin is strict about any criminal matters as evidenced with chad Johnson or whomever he calls himself now. he got rid of vontae Davis for having a poor attitude which was detrimental to the teams success. ex leadership such as bess have come forward as well about Martin never talking about any issues he may have. sounds like Martin is trying to get money and save face. truth be damned

Walrus had it right. Schefter has information that an NFL investigation will find willing talkers against Incognito high up in the Dolphin organization. They are likely relieved if not jubilant that he's gone. It probably will also include secretary types and other low to mid level employees, the same types who held a party when Saban left. Stuffy jerks like Incognito shed insults in every room.

In short, everything from here out damns Incognito. Martin will continue to be attacked only by the birther types, the ones who clutch that trophy line as if it has any semblance of accuracy or value. Seriously, are we really going to trot out that everybody gets a trophy line again? That was worn out and pathetic during the last campaign, when the fear brigade tried it. I guess 47% wasn't low enough. I guess I keep forgetting that young white males dominate forums like this, so the lughead perspective is more prominent than elsewhere.

Your post might make some sense to me but so far Incogs black team-mates are supporting him more than Martin who is black so that certainly sheds more light than your racist posts about the majority of the fans that support this site. So many folks are trying to hide behind the racist card than forusing on the real black and white of the issue.

Philbin, Ireland, Incognito, and Martin will all be gone next season.

The only question I have right now is will the weasel Dawn Aponte somehow survive? These Parcellians are like ****roaches.

ATL_PHIN_FAN: You disappoint me with that prediction.

How so?

Disappointed that I would predict it, or that you would be disappointed if that happens?

That you would predict it at this point, given the facts we know. Your previous posts seemed wiser than that. Not trying to insult you, DW. I think you've been following all of this too closely perhaps, which can lead to tunnel vision. If you turn out to be right, then you are Nostradamous, given the facts we know right now. IMO, we have about 20% of the information we'd need to make a real judgement from our perspective. To make a prediction, one needs to have made a judgement first. Therefore, you disappoint me because you've judged the situation without the necessary facts to do so.

I think Ireland and Philbin will be gone due to the team's performance on the field.

Sorry if I gave the impression that they will be gone because of this particular incident.
