Schefter: Dolphins harassment stretches all the way up to management

Shefter never said that the bullying stretches up to management. Not sure how you get that from that segement. Jonathon Martin missing two days of OTAs and the team not getting an adequate explanation is a huge red flag on the lack of leadership from the organization. Had the coaching staff gotten the very much needed reason for the absence at the time it occurred, we are not having this conversation.

To excuse Philbin and his staff for not following up on Martin's absence indicates a lack of understanding what entails being a leader and the basic principals of leadership.

It's not that he's wrong, it's how he frames the story, it's that he gives parts of the story that highlight his POV. A reporter is not supposed to do that IMO. Darlington IMO is the BEST inside reporter in the business. He gives all the info. Schef should remember how he got the ESPN job, follow the facts.

I watched him several times explain last night and some this morning that the Dolphins knew of the voicemails and txt's. Implying they knew about it since June this year when Martin met with Philbin. He had to back track because one of the ESPN desk ppl that was interviewing asked him this morning, when did the Dolphins first find out about the voicemails and txts? He stumbled for a few secs and then had to give the full truth, not his biased one that he was giving for almost a full day.

It's obvious he has it out for Cog, and it appears he doesn't care who he has to run over to get Cog.

My question is why is Schefter releasing his information in segments? I heard an interview he did either Sunday night or really early Monday morning saying that he heard the voice mails and read the texts and that they will be damning once they come out. Then he finally releases the context of those tapes. Why not release them when you know them and instead tease and drag it out? He keeps hinting that he knows the full story, why not give the public the full story now?

I know exactly why he won't.

homers being homers. Nothing new on this site. I tell u what, being a dolphin right now is depressing reading all this. We are know as 1 of the classiest franchises around who follow the rules n always play a fair game. This new scandle has destroyed the reputation of this franchise. Im laying the blame on who brought this guy in, who signed him. Incognito was always a problem wherever he went, we should of been smart n stayed away but we didnt because our GM is hard headed.

I dont know if what scheftner is saying is true or not but at this point anything is possible with this organization. Stephen is beyond pissed off right now and getting ready to fire everyone, if 1 thing we can all agree on is that rich ppl wont let u mess with there money and he has a ton of money invested in the dolphins. The only way to clean our reputation and wash our hands from this is to FIRE everbody. Aponte, ireland, philbin anyone with power and authority need to go and we have to hire some high level reputation execs to restore order with this franchise. This is an all time low for the dolphins and a huge distraction. Jimmy johnson never won us nothing but he had winnings season n had control of this team, dude had respect of the players, something u cannot say about our current front office.

Uhm, because they get better TV ratings if they drag this thing out? I don't think there is any other agenda in play here. I do agree that Schefter has some kind of personal vendetta against Richie Incognito, but he is only reporting what is being fed to him by involved parties (such as the Martin family). I don't think that's driving this thing at this point, though. This is about the fall sweeps, man.

It's also possible that he's just releasing information as he gets it, and again, we know which party is releasing the information. There is a clear strategy in play here from the Martin camp, and it has been effective so far.

I don't see how you can blame Adam Schefter for what's going on here. He is a reporter. He wants to get scoops, report scoops, and get a pay raise for bringing value to ESPN. That's it. If there's nothing to report, he's not reporting anything.

I have been disappointed in Martin's play and was never a big fan. Having said that, people shouldn't have to take this kind of harassment, no matter what field they are in.

Whose to say they didn't try? Whose to say Philbin didn't talk to Martin? Maybe Martin said it was personal reasons and clammed up.
