Just 'cause we blast Schefter doesn't mean we're in denial. Many of us acknowledge that where there's smoke, there's probably fire. But as well, many of us don't see a 7-alarm inferno here. Schefter seems to think there is, and frankly I for one don't think so. So I call him out.
 
Jeff, Joe and the staff do not survive this. It is too hot. Get ready for more hot stove football come January.

Do I think it is right they do not survive? No, not at this point. However, they will get swept out. Jonathan Martin's scorched earth policy took many with him.

now, i dont know if he himself set this in motion or some family member/friend or attorney, but, this is as obvious as the ugly on rosie o'donnals face! these lawsuits are coming and soon, their all just waitng for more people [nfl/team/cognito] to put out more info they can use against them.

this is all about martin padding his future. he has a couple obstacles, mainly that as soon as it hit the media, he anounced on social media that "it isnt ritchie. dont blame him, we are ok, theres more to this than reported"].

and now its full on angry mob with torches heading for incognitoville with tar and feathers. but, why the turn on a dime just DAYS after saying he and ritchie were good?

it's whoever is in his ear, probably an attorney and hyped up family who isnt thrilled about not having nfl money leave the family and ruining there jonothan supplied future.

to me, he should be dead in the water with all his contradictions, but, the race card is now in it and its the witch hunt of the 21st century, no matter how it is implied. and i know everyone is going to go ape poop citing ritchies phone message but, thats ritchie. he says some insensitive things at time not with ill intent. i think its very telling that so many black players, even rookie black players are coming to his defense. ritchie has some issues for sure, hot head. dirty play. but, NO ONE, ANYWHERE has ever accused him of being a racist!! look at the butcher job he did on egnew last year on hard knocks calling him [and his mom] everything in the book. he uses that stuff, even as insensitive as some of it is as motivation. i thought he would be the one to leave and cause this kind of backlash but he stayed around and is now a MUCH improved player. he didnt run away and i am sure that ritchies team mates explained him to egnew and to not take it all wrong.

but, i am sure egnew is being bugged night and day right now by the martin family attorney to sink incognito. and i am sure their legal team has those episodes of hard knocks in hand and ready to play in a court of law. and they could throw some HUGE money at egnew for his biased testimony and coupled with that hard knocks video, it could be potent.

its all about money folks. he knows his time in the nfl and its ritches are short lived and he is using a scorched earth strategy to exit with a nice bag of nfl cash.

i wont miss him. doesnt sound like his team mates will either.

Something very confusing in your statement. You say he wasnt an NFL quality player but up to this incident he had started every game he has every played in the NFL not to mention he was made our LT starter early this offseason.
He wasnt benched his position was changed but still a starter, he was in no danger of losing his position that any of us know of. McKinnie cannot play RT for whatever reason so they moved Martin back to a position he played last year.
If Martin isnt an NFL qulity player the this line had maybe two guys that beonged in the nfl at oline at best. As for his NFL career looking shot up to the incident he was considered part of the future of our olinealong with Pouncey.
He was in little to no danger of being cut next year so what is the angle really
 
I posted this above, It's only slanderous if it's not true. If what schefter is reporting is true, the Dolphins have no legal recourse and thus he cannot be sued.

Did you see the texts Incognito received from Martin? This guy was either internalizing everything completely, or there's more at work here.

Have you never been in a situation where someone totally clammed up or lied to you to try to hide something from you? And keep in mind that the collective bargaining agreement puts limits in place to what coaches can and can't do with their players unless they have PROOF. I don't know, I just don't get this idea that Joe should have waved his hands and read every subtext in what was clearly a dysfunctional relationship between two men who were trying to make everything look normal on the surface.

And you know I'm not happy with Joe Philbin. That I'd be happy to see a new coaching staff in here. But this? I'm sorry, I don't think this is his fault. Not unless something explosive comes out or it's shown that he's a liar.

Not saying it's his fault only that I would expect him to know something was afoul at a minimum.
 
Joe does not survive this. There is too much public pressure.

Depending on how the season plays out will factor in with this but I don't believe he gets fired before Black Monday. Of course if there is something lurking in the background that comes out then all bets are off.
 
Schefter is letting this whole situation get personal....He is upset that Incognito called him out and called his reporting a bunch of BS. Now Schefter is running with this story and just at this point making very broad assumptions. This story is just drama and the writers and sport analysts love it! As a fan I'm tired of hearing about it already....can we just play football!!!
 
Stop, just stop. Richie Incognito has made his bed, and now he must lie in it. Maybe Richie isn't the super villain in this particular case that he is being made out to be, but he has done enough scummy things in his life and his career that it really doesn't matter. It's catching up with him.

I think if the team finishes 8-8 or worse, yes. However, if the team somehow pulls it together and makes the playoffs? Or if the team somehow pulls it together and miraculously wins a playoff game? Joe will survive this.
