This morning on Mike & Mike they were talking about the situation in Miami, schefter said he thinks we have a good team and a real good defense, he also said we have a good offensive line and good players on offense but the one thing holding us back is the QB, but he said he thinks henne can still be a good nfl qb and he has shown flashes that he can be, he said henne just needs to get his head focused, although schefter is not much of an nfl expert besides transactions and stuff like that, i def agree with him.

Those first 2 games at home are HUGEEEEE for the Dolphins. If Miami can find a way to beat New England opening night and then FINALLY beat Houston and start the season 2-0 at home . . . . Henne can win over alot of people. He can also lose the fans he has left.

I bet those 2 idiots were chuckling it up about Miami's situation leading up to the Schefter segment, then agreed with everything he said while he was on. Total hacks.

Henne will improve this year with the upgrade o-line and reggie bush creating mismatches and gates to stretch the field. Anyone who thinks otherwise is crazy. We still finished 7-9 last year....could realistically go 9-7 or 10-6. Does not matter if your 14-2 (patriots last year) or 13-3 (Falcons last year) as long as you can sneak into the playoffs, you have a chance. GB only had 10 wins last year and the patriots and falcons both were 1 and done.

on the week 1 menu if chad henne's the starter...shell coverages...a ton of them...henne hasn't proven he can do anything against shell coverage...belichick knows it and he's the one that showed the rest of the league last year how to exploit henne...don't worry about the running game so much get miami in 2nd and 7 etc and go into umbrella coverages

I think even 1-1 would be a great start, that's a tough opening 2 games. if you come away at 1-1 that will be a confidence boost.

Did Greenberg's and Golic's head explode, because weren't they just saying how bad things were in Miami? Not a real big fan of Schefter ever since he went to ESPN. Seemed to get real full of himself, but I guess that means he just fits in.

He is 100% accurate though, Miami is a very good team, they just have question marks at quarterback. There is still a chance Henne could become a solid starter(I have my doubts) since this will be only his second season he is entering as a starter.

This team has the foundation of a playoff team. Likely top 5 defense, solid receivers, new offenseive scheme, revamped rushing attack and what I see as a much improved offensive line(even with Colombo at RT). With Henne, this is likely a 9 win team and will be competing for a playoff spot. It is not doom and gloom like some here expect.

I'm actually glad we got New England early . . . that is the best way to catch those guys off guard. With the addition of some speed this season and Henning gone, Henne is going to have to throw deep and force teams to adjust. That will make the running game more effective and allow Reggie Bush to have more of an impact as a WR out of the backfield. Teams shortened the field on us all year and we had nobody in the backfield that could make a defender miss and pick up extra yards.

That first game will be a huge measuring stick for where we are at and what kind of offense we are going to see this year.

henne is too inconsistent with his accuracy. he cant anticipate and place the ball in spots. receivers always to have to adjust and that gets old.

the only way gettting new england early would be a good idea is if we really are gonna be running an offense that can take them by surprise...thats it...if we go out there and try to do what we did last year the downhill power running game and play action off of it with chad henne we are toast

element of surprise is what we have to hang our hats on in that game...but you also got to think as this supposedly a new offense etc that there are gonna be some major hiccups early...and against a belichick lead team major hiccups lead to losses...they are extremely well coached...

and on defense getting to brady is always a chore...and when you don't he chews you up and spits you out...this d's good but its not shut down top offenses in the league good...at least not yet...we'll see how much its improved this year

Miami do have a good team, especially on D and I dont think you will find many who dispute that. But we will stuggle mightily again this year to but points on the board.

What the hell is this? An optimistic post?! Some nerve you have posting that kind of perspective here on FH. Now quickly post something negative before we consider your post.

I agree... NE and Houston are no gimme wins.... but if we can beat NE week 1, I think a 1-1 record would be slightly disappointing.... If NE beats us week 1, a 1-1 record gives me a bit of confidence.

It's funny how that order of games really matters in this instance.

In 2005 Schefter went camping with the Dolphins when he worked at NFL network. He was so impressed with Nick Saban's camp he said that the Dolphins would win at least 10 games that year (we won nine so the prediction wasn't that bad).

However,3 weeks later he did his season predictions and picked us to finish last in the AFC East. I haven't been able to take him seriously since.

Really! At least we've beaten the Pats before HOUSTON owns us.
