Schefter: Ross wants Philbin, Ireland wants McCoy

I think this fan base has reached an all time low. First time I see people already looking forward to firing the new head coach, and one hasn't even been hired yet. They say Eagles fans are bad, but......

Right, the fans are bad. It's got nothing to do with the franchise being an absolute horrendous joke for years upon years upon years.

If I invested a team for a billion dollars, I would select football people that know what they are doing to make the major decisions for the team. Like or not Ireland is that guy.

Stephen Ross is an expert in real estate not football.

There isn't an owner in the NFL that doesn't get involved. Not one. If you are so foolish to blindly trust people that's your business. But I don't think Ross is that stupid.

if you guys want to believe everything you read then read The Bible.......if you all want to go crazy then keep on listening to the guys on TV.....all they do is trow stuff out there and if it happens then they claim to have known everything all along....again, why'd anyone in the media know that Ross wants one guy and Ireland the other. And if they're leaking something like this out there must be a reason for it.Maybe they're playing a game with the coaches and want to know who realy wants to be here.Either way, I believe that by friday we will know who the new coach is and we will have a million threads about how we're doomed for the next 10 years.

Ozzy rules!!

The best owners stay out of major decisions because they no **** about the game. What makes you have any confidence that Ross knows what he is doing? Oh yeah, "he wanted Jim Harbaugh". The "close but no cigar award winner"

Is Ross the owner of this team or what? Put on the damn big boy pants and put Ireland in his place!

Do you really want Ross to act like Jerry Jones? He needs to empower his GM and hold him accountable.

I think that whoever takes the HC position, they are planning to bring back Bowles as DC, this way we will have the same defense only directed by an eager new DC who besides already knows his defense. This way any of the HC will take care of the offense. By the way reading the Bio of both (McCoy & Philbin) without knowing anyone of them it look to me tha McCoy has more experience and skill on offense than Philbin adding that this last one did not make the call on offense en Green Bay. Just my opinion.

I'm telling you that Shefter himself said people around the league BELIEVE this is the case. What I am telling you is, its all someone's opinion. If I told you I BELIEVE that Ross wants Bowles and Ireland wants a make-over, would you believe me too? Or only if I had a microphone in my hand? You REALLY believe that Ross and Ireland are calling "people around the league" and telling them BEFORE hiring a coach that they already have their minds made up on who they want and that the disagree? Before a 2nd interview? Im sure they have their favorites right now but you REALLY think they'd go around telling people in the league this? You're gullible dude.

So if Schefter's story checks out with other news outlets will you call yourself gullible? I think there is something to this my friend.

McCoy should be the coach and it is too bad that an owner that has no experience and has terrible instincts as an owner is making the call. 5 year mistake.

Owners...good and bad are typically involved in the hiring and firing of coaches. Who do you think hires the GM? You think owners call another teams GM to ask who they should hire as their GM? The best owners stay out of the way of personnel decisions for the most part: ie: FA and drafting. Nothing wrong with an owner, especially an owner who shouldnt trust Ireland 100% and has already had to veto one stupid trade to be involved in the hiring of the next coach.

if its between ross and ireland you need to go with ireland . ross is not a football man.

i think both these guys need to take their case to judge peterson and have him pick the coach. and if his guy is Bowles LMAO - then go with bowles.

Apparently, none of you have ever been in a corporate conference room before. Disagreements on direction are commonplace and are often very productive.

Why doesnt any1 realize that the reason Harbaugh and then Fisher didnt come to Miami? Its pretty easy Ross needs to keep his Jerry Jones *** out of Football operations.Granted its his team but he doesnt know **** about football and doesnt give a damn about winning. If Ross did he would stay the heck out of the way and let Ireland do his job.

What do you mean "checks out with other news outlets"? You mean if someone else starts regurgitating Shefter's opinion or those opinions of people around the league, whatever the **** that means. I'll admit I'm wrong if proof comes out. Only problem is, we wont know this until Ireland is gone because Ross and Ireland arent stupid enough to go around telling people in the league (lol) who they want and on top of that, they disagree. It makes NO sense man. Usually when something doesnt make sense, it's not true.
