Schlereth on Mckinnie's performance last week: "as bad as I've ever seen anybody"

I think one of the main issues is the relative absence of constraint plays on offense. You can't go back into shotgun repeatedly and run a very small percentage of runs and constraint plays from that formation. You become highly predictable, and defensive linemen and blitzers are able to pin their ears back. Couple that with a predictable rhythm and cadence, insufficient talent on the line, and a developing QB, and you give the defense a world of an advantage, thus causing league-leading sack numbers.

Agree with this.

We need to draft Richmond Webb and Keith Simms in 2014..:hsmash:
This oline needs a total overhaul. Pouncey can be replaced too. I know it cannot be accomplished in 1 season, but if we has a GM that could pick quality, we could certainly nab 2 guys like Shula did back in the 80's
Ireland's continual bad picks are more painful than the individual performances by washed up players like mcKinnie and clabo, on top of bust players like Martin and thomas. Throw in Incognito too.
It is just beyond ridiculous. My 6 year old daughter would have better luck pulling names out of a hat.

McKinney's issue since joining has been that he has been awful picking up the blitz. When he's blocking a DE he's been fine, but when Tannehill points out a blitzer presnap and McKinney still can't get over, that's bad.

Not the only issue for sure, but it is an issue

We couldn't run regardless of what formation we ran from, so it IS NOT a formation thing. The snap count has been and is still an issue. Pouncey needs to be moved to guard! The last thing is you can only play the players your GM has brought in. Just reading this thread alone I see a head case that wasn't good to begin with, 2 guys on their decline in battle for the worst performance ever, and a very talented guy who basically advertises when he is going to snap the ball and is inaccurate with his shotgun snaps. This does not even mention John Jerry, and we will just leave it at that. The funny thing is people are blaming the coaching staff and not the GM, which is freaking funny!

I know they will use Pouncey making another pro bowl as a reason not to move him but its just plain dumb.
Brenner got his lunch money taken vs buffalo.

Six years building THIS o-line. SMH.

you can't line up under center in power i form sets with say 2 tight ends either in line cause the oline gets dominated up front when you try to run power at someone...see the short yardage power sets we get stoned in just about every time if you need more evidence...only choice we have pretty much is to spread teams out in shotgun sets and run off those looks with our best mismatch in the passing game guys in there to make teams play honest and respect the pass

this whole thing comes back to what it's always come back to our oline blows so we have no choice but to try and compensate and everyone knows it...

if sherman had a damn brain though he would run more read op zone read and throw the ball off pa step back looks to keep those lbs honest and make the stay at home de a non factor on the play...but shermans a dinosaur...that would help the inside run game...if you dontmake those lbs respect the pass they just choke down on the inside run game and gap fill

Yep, people bashing Sherman when he can only call so many plays because of the dysfunction in the O-Line. The only blessing I can see in this is that it has accelerated Tannehill's growth. Get him a line and even a descent running game, and we will be good! On the other side, Wheeler and Ireland can split a cab outta here for good!

sherman has tried to make some adjustments...less i form power short yardage sets to more shot gun with run pass option stuff mostly pass but to not have a damn step back read op play action pass when he sees the de stay home against the inside run and the run be shut down without the help of the backside de is assanine...16 damn weeks already...

god dang...i know you are handcuffed by personell but the tape screams pa off the zone read for like 8 weeks already...he'd have one on ones over the lbs and in front of the safeties in cutters til the cows came home...and if the lbs started getting depth after being gashed off pa the inside run game off the zone read would do much more damage...

This team needs to spend like 2-3 hours a day all offseason working on rb screen passes.

Tannehill needs to run more too...I know this has been already stated repeatedly.....but he has left some long runs out there. It make me wonder if he is hurt and trying to escape further injury or he is specifically being told to hand the ball off?

That's funny. I have pretty much the exact same sentiments about the "experts" on BSPN.

BTW Schlereth, Your green chile sauce and burritos suck.

You know it's also possible that I don't know a god damn thing. But I really hope that if the staff looks for tells and if they do see that Pouncey has one, will either work to correct it or be unafraid to move him back to guard. He would be an amazing guard.

BTW I know you guys noticed the REALLY bad shotgun snaps last week.
