Wow So much passion and fire after the game. That's the kind of coach and attitude we need.

How about all this passion and fire?

Mike Singletary had even more fiery attitude than Jim Harbaugh. He was awful.

The key is to actually be a good coach.

Like Tony Dungy,Bill Walsh, Tom Landry to name a few.Cant see those guys with the Rah Rah after game rants.

Hire Al Pacino...

Jim Harbaugh has it all. Ross should offer him a billion dollars, full control over anything he wants and another billion when he gets us 5 Super Bowls or something.

If your team is in a position in which its success is hinging on the coach's personality, it likely has too little talent and too little leadership among the players.

Are we going to do this after every playoff game whining about what coach and what player we dont have. I saw a thread spouting the greatness of Ronnie Brown too lol

To be fair, the big complaint I have with Philbin is not that he 'doesn't motivate,' but that he's openly admitted he doesn't see a reason to try to push his players' buttons or motivate them. He's actually said that. And while that's fine, I understand the idea that 'these guys are pros, why should I have to do this crap?' I honestly think the head coach does need to push some buttons.

Of those guys you mentioned, I think it's funny that you bring up Bill Walsh. Bill Walsh was a pretty low key guy, but he was an excellent speaker and could command a room. He also LOVED to play mind games with his players and would frequently try to foster an 'us against the world' mentality, even if he had to really reach to do it.

If anyone thinks this type of fire and passion doesn't make a difference, I'm sorry for you. This is the type of fire and determination I played and coached with. It is VERY contagious. It really makes a significant difference.

Only truly successful coaches read off cue cards..

Oops, I mean incompetent

I could care less what a coach does after a game,it's what he does prior and during that's important.
