Sharpe: "Dolphins' Problems on Offense Can be Laid at Tannehill's Feet"

A Rodgers was being dinged left right and center in fact he was having concussion issues - he had lots of Receiving threats at the time -> so what did GB do? They drafted B Bulaga to try to shore up an issue. Blaming the QB is just too easy around here.
You're talking about the year (2009) Rodgers led the league in sacks with 50. The difference, however, was that Rodgers's QB rating was 103.2 that year, whereas Ryan Tannehill's is currently 20 points lower. Tannehill is also being pressured this year on no greater percentage of his dropbacks than Rodgers was in 2009.

So obviousy Sharpe is much smarter than any of our coaching staff because we just traded for a washed up McKinnie to replace our LT. If the issue is Tannehill why are we benching these awesome linemen

You don't see a problem with what Sharpe pointed out in the video?

Tannehill is a young qb and of course needs to get better but our pass protection is among the worst in the league, thats painfully obvious. Thats the reason we benched our RT and changed our LT.
Either that or we have the worst coach in the league because he is too stupid to realize that its not the linemen's fault and he is benching them for no reason

Why cant it be both the QB and the RT?

Why cant Clabo and Tannehill both suck?

Spreading the blame, and acknowledging reality just doesn't fit some peoples anti-tannehill obsession. It just shows their ignorance.

I don't agree with Sharpe that it is all on Tannehill and I usually do not agree with the OP on his posts. But what you just wrote sounds like "pot...kettle".
At this time you don't have to be anti-Tannehill to be considered ignorant. All you have to do is criticize him on one play and you are being called ignorant, hater and whatever.

The OL is our weakest part, no doubt, but that does not mean Tannehill is absorbed of any criticism. Sharpe pointed two plays out and analyzed them quite good. I personally can say that there are at least two more sacks where I put the blame on Tannehill. But you really could only see that when you are in the stadium with a full view of the field. I am sure there are a few more plays.

I always said that in year two I want to see significant improvement from Tannehill before I could declare him anything better than an average QB. From last year to this year he is stagnant. And I do recognize that sometimes our receivers drop the ball and our OL breaks down at times. But every QB has to deal with that. Outside of these moments there were enough plays for Tannehill to be made (i.e. the two plays Sharpe pointed out). It comes to the point that anything and everything going wrong is now checked off to everybody else but Tannehill.

I don't think that a lot of people realize that 2.5 to 3 seconds is an eternity in football. A really good QB gets the ball out of his hands in that time span. Maybe the reason why most here don't realize that this is an eternity is because most of the good QBs already got rid of the ball at that time.

Brady's OL is always featured as 'how an OL should be". Hey, there are times that he can have lunch and dinner before he starts looking for a receiver but if you watch Brady and the Patriots O it is his quick release time what made him so good. Why do you think guys like Welker were so successful? Why do you think Sharpe pointed exactly these two plays out? How often were we frustrated that Brady just got the ball out in time again?
Sitting in the pocket with 4 second to spare any QB can be good. Heck, even Sanchez. What makes a QB great is the ability to release a ball quick and accurate and that is what we are talking about. All the great ones can do that: Manning, Brady, Brees, Favre, Marino, Kelly, Luck etc. 2.5 to 3 seconds with an open receiver 5-10 yards down the field should be enough time.

If an objective evaluation makes me anti-Tannehill so be it. But that would prove my initial point

Before you call his growth stagnant look at the improvement on 3d down and 4th quarter efficiency. No doubt he has a ways to go and he is at fault for some of his sacks but his overall growth has been good and warrants him remaining the starter for the foreseeable future.

Well for one you have to include Martin since he just lost the job to a guy that was not getting the job done elsewhere.
Tannehill doesnt suck and believing he is the issue on these sacks is quite off base.
Does he have some responsibilty of course but overall the pass protection has been poor.
So are you now back on the Tannehill is a bust kick

Blame everything but the QB... that's the Finheaven way.

I think some of us see it as the exact opposite. We have no problem putting the blame on Tannehill for things that are his fault (the interceptions, fumbles), but it seems like a lot of You only want to blame the quarterback and that is the TRUE Finheaven way sadly. When certain posters start thread after thread about the majority of sacks being Tannehill's fault when any of us with eyes can see that the Offensive Line is garbage and the kid just isn't getting enough time, well it just gets absurd after awhile. For the record, I'm on the fence about Tannehill myself but fair is fair and some of You need to practice what You preach because the way I see it there are just as many Tannehill critics with the same kind of tunnel vision that You guys are always accusing the so-called homers of.

But not the sacks! Those can't be him! :)

I'm glad you finally admit it. Glad to see You coming around better late than never :)

You're responding to a self proclaimed QB guru who created a "Get Real" thread about Tannehill leading the Dolphins to great successes. Nothing wrong with missing and changing your mind but he chastised CK for changing his mind on a win-loss prediction yet he does the same thing. Glass houses and stone throwing......

But not the sacks! Those can't be him! :)
I don't think anyone with knowledge of the game is saying some of those sacks are not on him but you give the perception that all of them are on him and that just isn't so.

Duh I am...

I spelled the dif out for you earlier -> Rodgers was surrounded by skill players do I also need to explain that Rodgers was more mature having sat behind Favre in GBs system? I would expect his rating to be overall higher...

How about that concussion? Dude held onto the ball too long I guess...
