At this point, we should not be surprised at the inconsistent play of our beloved Miami Dolphins. They have beaten some of the league’s better teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals, and have lost to some of the league’s worst like Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One week they play a complete team game and beat the New England Patriots, only to forget to show up and get shut out against the Buffalo Bills just seven days later. Despite the roller coaster ride this season has been, one Dolphin has remained consistent and stable in his ways. That person is OC Mike Sherman: Miami’s enemy from within.
Sherman has managed to hide his horrible play calling in all of Miami’s close losses. The blame has been spread around throughout different areas on the team and in the organization, but yesterday’s 19-0 beating Miami took in Buffalo unmasked Sherman’s terrible play calling and brought Miami’s main issue to light for good.

Agree. There are three things the Bills defense has been exposed in.

1. Misdirection runs. For as much as I love Kiko he bails on misdirection and is found out of position alot. And gives up big runs because of it.

2. Screens. See above their aggressive nature makes them struggle in screens.

3. If you can do the top two our pass rush slows way down then we give up BIG pass plays.

So your game plan let us off the hook on all three of our defensive issues.

He's always trying to cram the same plays every week down every defenses throat. I've seen no innovation from him at all, no adjustments, nothing. To get off to a slow start week after week is totally on him. Very rarely do we get up 10-0 quick. We always seem to be playing from behind.

the play calling sucked yesterday however the O-line play was worse

The entire offensive game plan sucked. We did nothing I was hoping we would do, no screens, no delayed handoffs, no short passing game. Sherman played right into their defense.

Put this lost on the players were it belongs...this is the same guy who called the game against the Pats, Indy, chargers and Steelers.....we praise the players when we win and want to fire the OC when we lose....the players play the game, it wasn't him missing blocks, dropping passing and making errand throws.....it was the Players, they lost this game and its time we fans hold them accountable, stop looking for the somebody other than them to blame...this one is on RT for making bad throws, the OL for not protecting him, WR for dropping balls and not getting open....the D for not getting turnovers or making plays against this rookie QB

The team win and loses together....now if this was a close game and he called a ridiculous play that cost us the game then you blame him, don't blame him in a shut out when the team gains all of 120 yards in 4 quarters.....

What nobody is talking about..is the F'ng wind. It was blowing the ball off the field. What do you think a screen pass would have looked at?

Two years into it and we have yet to see the fast and quick attack offense that Philbin said he was going to put in when he first came here. This team is so predictable on both sides of the ball.

Is it that we don't have the talent to put it in or is it that the coaches don't have the talent to teach it? Philbin better figure something out as he might make it through this year, but him and Sherman are going to find their asses on the street after the next. Sherman can forget about envisioning a coaching offer too with the mess he has created here.

Was just as gutless/clueless as head coach of Green Bay.

Sherman is a no accountability hack who has the "Players just have to make plays" mentality. Thinks adjustments are insignificant, very little if any effort to exploit any team flaws, just run the same set over and over, its simply on the players to "Step up".

Facts are the Dolphins remain one of the easiest teams in the NFL for any D to scheme, just unbearably predictable.

They should have certainly kept running the ball.

I get how a guy who got ran out of town once can get a second chance. However when it happens twice and for the same reasons, you really have to think before giving him another shot. Apparently the good ole boy network trumps simple common sense.

Then why do we even need Sherman? Just get a robot to spit out the same generic plays and let the players do the rest. The problem is that the team has shortcomings on many points in the offense, but there is very little effort from the play calling side of things to mask that. Does it make sense to keep putting Thomas/Miller in situations where they have to pickup a blocker when 99% of the time they just get run over? Your line can't hold the opponent for more than 3 secs, so you make no effort to call plays that develop in 1 or 2 secs? Does Wallace really have to run the same 2 or 3 routes the entire game?

only so much u can blame sherman for everything when hartline can't catch and the oline can't block. Thats the main reason we lost too many dropped passes by brian which killed the drives and all the sacks. sherman deserves sum blame because they just didn't look ready and there was no adjustments.
