Sherman Fired

Woooooo! I hope he told Ireland and Philbin....succeed together this year or fail together this year.

How we spinning this fellas?

Philbin is weak and succumbed to Ross?

Or

Philbin is continuing on with his crusade against leader types and Sherman just got too leader-ey for his liking?

My guess is that Sherman fell on his sword. By being 'fired' he gets to keep his $$.

Context on how this all went down would be interesting.

I've heard often that Kubiak and Sherman are close friends. It's possible that if Sherman threw himself on his sword he could convince Kubiak to come in and keep his son in law on staff. I would be okay with that, I love Gary Kubiak the way Hayden Fox loves Mike McCoy.
Hayden is in a menage with McCoy and Billick.

He'd definitely ressurect the run game

His deep ball with Wallace was off.. Its not like the kid didnt complete any deep balls

I'm not bagging on Tannehill. But when it's that blatantly obvious that we NEED that throw to Wallace to win games, and our QB coach fails to amend it, you have no business at the pro level.

I read on here a couple days ago that some respected scout or coach said Tannehills issues throwing deep balls come from his Balance and Hips, if someone from outside of the organization can pin point it, why can't someone whos watching him every single day at practice see that?

Why can't they just fire everyone. Feels like I'm buying some house that some investor flipped by just putting on a coat of paint and neglecting the cracked foundation.

Who are they going to get? Do you really like starting over all the time?? Got to get some consistency.

Reading between the lines, it's more Philbin saw that it was what's best. Also worth a look

By the way,Philbin wanted to interview McAdoo for job before 2012 but Packers denied permission. But as NFL Net says, his contract is now up.

I can't get on board with any of this stuff unless Ireland is ****-canned, but I feel it's worth it to bring up once again that Mike Sherman does not run the Green Bay offense.

We might finally be bringing in what Joe Philbin CLAIMED he was going to bring with him. Maybe.

Jeff Ireland gets another year to take a dump on our franchise.

another "year"?

jeff ireland is going to be here a LONG time. unless we go a couple years straight of 5 wins or under, he is going no where.

ross is taking the blame for ALL of irelands failures as a gm, putting the emphasis on the harbaugh nightmare as the mistake he made that cost ireland his reputation and put him in a once i am done here i will never get another gm job state.

if this kind of season with kind of EPIC draft failure, waste of BIG MILLIONS and 5 years of lousy, plus the stink of martin than what will? ross is not getting laughed at anymore. people in the nfl are wincing with every move [or non move] he makes.

its going to be a long, sad ride with ross at the helm. and his boy gm with the constant smirk is the exclamation point on the whole thing.

Finally some good news around here! Wonder how bad Philbin squirmed around in this meeting, wondering if it was Ocho Cinco worthy? Hope Joe was not wearing the short, shorts.

Also, Philbin had "final say" with coaching decisions written in his contract. That means: Ross and/or Ireland gave Philbin an ultimatum. His job and Sherman's (and maybe more), or just Sherman's. Philbin bowed down.
