Sherman is 'Running' the team

Philbin is a candy ass. A pansy. In his pressers he tries hard to come off as firm and confident, but it just looks stupid. Like he's putting on an act written from a script that Aponte wrote for him.

He uses cue cards? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Players are supposed to take him seriously when he can't even relate to them? He can't genuinely say something real to these guys without rehearsing it?

TEAMS TAKE ON THE PERSONALITY OF THEIR HEAD COACH.

There is no wonder why we caved down the stretch.

We get it. You hate the guy.

Not saying it is true or not, but just that it sounds believable is an indictment in itself.

It only sounds believable to you because you don't like Philbin. Even if I didn't like Philbin, it still wouldn't sound remotely believable because of the source, and because of the evidence already listed in this thread.

We should be in the playoffs.

He is directly responsible for this December collapse.

He's the first guy I fire.

Hate him? Not at all. He's just not a head football coach.

Besides, how do you hate someone who you have never met?

Blow this whole team up!!!!!
How much more can us fans take of this garbage.
Ireland,Philbin, and Sherman all need to go.
Next year will be a joke as long as the 3 stooges are in control.

It only sounds believable because Philbin hasn't demonstrated much leadership from what I've seen. Its not that I don't like the guy, I just don't think he does anything particularly well in terms of strategy or motivation.

So the statement "Sherman is running the team" is true because you don't like Philbin's personality? So you basically don't have any evidence that Sherman is filling out game-day rosters, cutting/signing players, throwing the challenge flag during games, running practices, appointing and meeting with the leadership council, ect. Its just your gut feeling ans some tweet from a tabloid sports reporter?

This is based on Philbin's longtime relationship with Sherman and is pure speculation. It's like saying your father influences you, if you work together. Judging from our head coach's virtues and character I say this is pure BS. Nothing to see here, let's move on to something positive like how we go about fixing our problems on the field. A.k.a. offense of line, inside linebackers, poor tackling, a complete tight end.

I could ask the same question about Tannehill and the answer would be the same: because we're committed.

TOTALLY disagree with you on this. There is a huge difference here. You CANNOT find an upgrade over Ryan Tannehill in free agency or the draft.

Plus, unlike you, I thought RT had a good year.

Did I say he was bad? I said we're committed meaning he's shown enough that he might be good and we've used too much time and resources on him to not explore him further. If he does turn out to be bad, just like you're predicting Philbin will be bad, then you sure as hell can try to find an upgrade this offseason.

I could be a jerk and say that Sherman told Joe to cut him, but I won't. However, Joe placed a high value on character guys early on in his coaching tenure. However, this example you highlight does not disprove Beasley's quote either.

You know what does disprove the quote? The fact that Sherman himself said Philbin told him to stop running into loaded boxes.

Why is it that fans can assume things about Jeff Ireland like it was ALL his idea to jettison Bush, Long, Dansby and Burnett and that Philbin had nothing to little to do with it, but when something like this comes out from actual writer, Philbin backers say, "I highly doubt this is true"?

I'm no pro or anti jeff, just like I'm not necessarily pro or anti Philbin
I have said for the record that i think Philbin should have one more year...BUT if this is true he needs to go period
