A likely 3rd round comp pick, would mean Fournette would have to sign a monster contract, with his new team. And honestly, I don't see that happening.you also likely get a 3rd round compensatory pick if he leaves next year this is a no brainer
Jordan Howard had more starts, more rushes, more yards, more TDs and a better YPC than Fournette for the first three years of their respective careers...and it wasn't close. Howard had over 3,300 yards (1,100 AVERAGE per season.) Fournette has 2,631.
Let's be fair and mention Fournette was injured most of his 2nd season. He put up 2600 yards in 36 games while Howard had 3300 in 47 games during each of their first three seasons. Howard had nearly 800 carries to Fournette's 666 so of course you would expect Howard to produce more yards.
...and he also had more yards per carry.
My point is that some are suggesting that Howard isn't a proven back, or that Fournette is a far superior back to Howard...and neither of those things are true.
I think he can still be a solid rb. Not ‘the’ guy, but a solid one to rotate inHoward’s production in Chicago had a lot to do with no weapons at wr for the bears one of those cutler years due to attrition. So the offense ran thru the rbs and the tight ends.
so there’s some similarities in terms of volume based production.
Went to the eagles and lost his gig to the 2nd round rb from penn state miles sanders who was more talented.

Since when did it not matter if an RB could stay on the field? That's a pretty important skill unto itself.
