Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe React to Flores Being Fired by Miami

The majority may dislike these two but close your eyes and listen. Disregard the messenger and take in the message. It’s the opinion of most everyone in the NFL nexus (not that any on here care cuz, you know, everyone here is smarter than even those with real experience).

Podcasts, ESPN, articles, etc.; there’s not a source other than on this forum that I have stumbled upon advocating the firing of Flores.

If it’s going to be about politics, I understand the move. If I were an owner, I could imagine myself wanting yes men too. I’d hope to be a better owner but I’m only human and it’s human nature to want things done your way.

What pisses me off about that is, stop being a fking coward. Ross wants to Senator Palpatine this team from the shadows. If you want a yes man in Grier to do what you want, just have the fking balls to Jerry Jones it and come down off your ivory tower. You want to make the decisions? Make them publicly. He just doesn’t want to have to Matrix the bullets when the pistols get drawn.

I understand that the losing record at the beginning of the season is on Flores as well. But any of you who actually played know it is so much more difficult to regroup, refocus, and not lose hope to rally 7 in a row to keep us in the playoff hunt.

Flores took this team to its fullest potential. Back to back winning seasons keeping us in the playoff hunt late. You don’t think so? 19 points a game. A hot and cold QB. And, name ONE superstar on our offense. Go ahead. I’ll wait…

As always happens to us, Flores will coach elsewhere and we’ll be at home watching him on the sidelines come mid January. If that’s not always our story, we wouldn’t have anything to read.
What he did to the offense is unacceptable. He allowed and promoted rookies to coach rookies. The guy was in over his head. He is the head coach he needs to be able to communicate properly with the team.

It sure is made up.

Report: Brian Flores wanted Miami Dolphins to draft Justin Herbert over Tua Tagovailoa

September 26, 2021

“Tagovailoa hasn’t had much good fortune since Miami selected him, and this setback comes at an inopportune time, with ownership mulling an acquisition of [Houston] Texans’ embattled franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson and Tagovailoa’s durability and future in South Florida already a subject of conservable debate,” wrote Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. “Head coach Brian Flores has made it clear to those around him how much he prizes availability at the quarterback position (and prefers bigger, strapping pocket passers all things considered), spending his time as an assistant in New England around Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

Numerous personnel men and coaches around the league have heard, dating back to last season, that Flores would have preferred to select Justin Herbert over Tagovailoa

If it makes you feel better to pretend all of these behind the scenes reports arent rumors.

rumor

If it makes you feel better to pretend that this is not how behind the scenes stuff is reported all the time, more power to ya

If you believe Grier drafted Tua but Flo wanted Herbert then more power to you.

Just a second here. While it is difficult to regroup after starting 1-7.....do you realize how inept you have to have your team performing to take a 10-6 team off to a 1-7 start?

And this team do NOT play to its fullest potential. C'mon. Pointing out we scored 19 point per game isn't an excuse (it was actually 20) -- it's an indictment. Hot and cold QB? Isn't part of his job to make sure that doesn't happen?

In terms of 'we didn't have a superstar on offense'.....

what offensive superstars do the Raiders have? Darren Waller was hurt and wasn't on normal Darren Waller pace.
what offensive superstars did the Saints have?
what offensive superstars did the Patriots have?
the Eagles?

They all scored more than the Dolphins. So how is it that this team was at its 'fullest potential'?
