So how is this fair?

Read what I said, our guys didn't generate an arrest record. I wouldn't care so long as Bowe was dealt out the same punishment as our guys. My problem here is the NFL seems to give guys that get into legal trouble a slap on the wrist yet severely punish those that are only in trouble at the League level. Those that get in trouble with the law should be punished just like those that get punished for PEDs. It ALL effects the integrity of the game and it should all be treated equally.

Any job usually punished people that break their rules more than if you get arrested for something.
PEDS AND MARIJUANA do not affect the game equally. I don't remember you coming out saying Misi should be suspended when he broke into some guys domicile or when Ronnie Brown got arrested for a DUI.

The variability in suspensions seems crazy. The Commissioner would appear to play favorites with players of certain teams that seem to be treated leniently and others that get a bad run. It seems like the whole process is either dependent on the Commissioner's mood of the day or perhaps the system is corrupt. Roger Goodell has had success in dramatically increasing NFL profitability but he needs to be replaced.

What players has he shown such favoritism too and what does he gain from it. I don't buy that. I do agree that there should be more explanation with suspensions but I don't think one can judge that he has favored certain players.
Many have criticized the Rice suspension for being too lenient but how many players have received suspensions for domestic violence ? WHat case has he shown lesser regard for ?

If all 50 states made marijuana legal the NFL would have a hard time saying the players could not use it. It would be a lot like alcohol, the team could say we don't what you under the influence at work but we can't police what you do legally in the off season.

no, they can't stop them from using it, but they can give random drug tests, and if they are high during practice or a game, they can do something then. just like if someone comes to work drunk.

If this needs to be moved than so be it, but I gotta ask this.

I just read that Dwayne Bowe got a ONE game suspension for an arrest involving marijuana. That means he was caught with a substance that is illegal on a Federal level. Yet Jordan and Jones (sounds like a law firm) get suspended for FOUR games for something the NFL has deemed illegal. I don't know about you, but if an arrest record was generated by one action then that should out weigh the action that did NOT produce an arrest record. It just doesn't seem fair to me that the guy who got arrested gets off with a slap on the wrist and our guys get the raw end of the deal. I don't care what effect the substances has on the player. Bowe was arrested for a substance that is illegal on a Federal level. Our guys are in trouble for something that is banned on a corporate level. Seems the punishments don't fit the crimes.

EDIT: Let it be clear that I think ANYONE who gets in trouble with the law should be punished the same as someone who uses PEDs. I don't care if it was drunk driving, battery, smoking weed, any of it. If it produces an arrest record they should be punished just like anyone else if not more so than those who don't get arrested. You start punishing the guys who get arrested on a regular basis like you do those that get in trouble for banned things by the League they might actually stop and think first before doing something stupid off the field.

That's my name! :D

What upsets me is how a man can beat the **** out of his girlfriend/wife and only get a 2 game suspension. Thats pretty ****** up!!!

Sorry I correct my statement. The other one I thought he had was dropped. This arrest is the one stemming from last year. Apologies.

I didnt know of any that's why I asked no need to apologize. Not surewhy I feel should feel better about my roiders on my team regardless of what happens to other players

Well in most jobs less would happen. Even in military if the charges are reduced or pleaded out lesser stuff happens.
Randy Starks years ago had no suspension for his domestic violence charge. If Rice was further prosecuted Im sure the suspension would have been worse

couldnt have been that bad... she did marry him after

Not to mention he was able to set up a pretrial program like many others to avoid charges.
This gets so much publicity because we saw the aftermath, people act like he is the only nfl player to get a domestic violence charge.
He is one of the few that has got punished for it,

They probably got married to get some type of spousal immunity. From everything I heard, he pretty much knocked her out. IMO, thats pretty bad.

I bet a lot of GFs get crazy when they drink. I remember many girl friends getting mad and stupid. That's when you roll out and see them later.
Fighting like that with your babe is not cool. But it happens.
